I guess this is going to be a two-part reply, I did something wrong with the first part. I found out through cousins that John 1816 had a brother named James. Through records, it seems he had two sisters, Mary and Margaret, who were single and lived together all of their lives. I think there were 6 children, could not find the mother's name. John married (third marriage) Martha Matilda Melton from N C. I cannot find out if Robert was born in the US, in the York/Chester area, or came from somewhere else. John Porter 1816 was a close friend to doctor Agustus Fraser Anderson, both named their children after each other. I'd appreciate ANY information.
