I am looking for information on Ira P. Portis. He is listed in 1860 Surry Co, NC (Mount Airy) with family as below. He was 44 years of age. His wife is Mary age 32. His daughter Rebecca age 11 at 1860 census is my great grandmother. He also had 4 other children. Sarah 12, Martha 10, Josephine 7& John 4. There is a Robert Allen Portis listed as living with this family age 29. Does anyone know of this Portis line?
