I do have a transcription of the will of the Robert Potter from Newport Pagnell who married Elizabeth Marshall. It is on my home computer but if you email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I will send it to you. The will alone is not proof that this Nathaniel named in the will was ours, but he disappeared from Newport Pagnell in the late 1630s so that is consistent with our Nathaniel.
Paul Gifford, a historian from the U of Michigan, went to London and pulled the actual records on George and Martha and he posted a lot at the Potter forum at Genealogy. If you go there you can read what he posted from around March-June of 1999. I've met Paul in person and will be doing a small piece of another project on the Crandalls with him and I find he is very thorough and knowledgeable.
Some people are hard to convince about some things, but I know that when I saw that goof of mine in the marriage record CD Ancestry just plopped stuff in to it.
I know a Potter DNA project has been started and I am planning to collect some DNA from my brother to add to it. So far no one has been from the RI lines but eventually we can find some more guys to do this, I'm sure. That might finally settle some of the questions we all have. The Potters have never been very good about writing things down - I sure wish they had!
