Celina POUDRIER wife of Tancrede PELLETIER, Rhode Island

I'm working on a branch of my POLIQUIN family and have just learned of the name POUDRIER through an obit for our family member Cordelia POLIQUIN nee PELLETIER.

Cordelia PELLETIER, daughter of Tancrede PELLETIER and Celina POUDRIER married our Grandfather's brother Arthur POLIQUIN in Rhode Island 25 Sept 1900.

Tancrede b. May 1857 Que d. ? & Celina b. ? Que d. 21 Aug 1895 RI

Their children were:
Philip b. Jun 1876 RI
Cordelia b. Jul 1879 RI d. Nov 1946 RI
Christina b. 10 Nov 1882 RI married unknown LEWIS
Mary aka Marie b. 27 Jan 1884
Levi b. 9 Jan 1888 RI d. Dec 1963 RI

Does anyone recognize Tancrede & Celina? I'd like to find out where in Quebec they came from so I can start researching them in the Drouin.

Oh my!! Its been a while since Ive been on this message board. I would love to have any info that you have on the family. My Aunts name is Leonie. She had a total of 6 children and my mother's name was Rose marie. I have one of Harvey's paintings hanging in my dining room.

I knew your great-grandmother Celina and grandmother Claire. I also knew Claire's daughter but I can't remember her name. As a child I lived across the street from Celina in Brockton MA. Claire lived with her, as did the daughter and her small children. I remember my grandmother talking about Harvey and how good he was to Celina. I don't remember meeting him or Celina's other children.

My grandmother was Evelyn Lanoue nee Poudrier. Celina was my grandmother's aunt. I have some family history to share with you if you would like to have it.

Hi Susan, I can't beleive this, my grandmother was Rosanna Rondeau Marchand your grandmother's sister My mom and your mom are cousins, My mothers name is Rita Marchand O'Brien. We all live in the Lowell /Chelmsford area.I don't have info on your grandfather but it sure was a surprise to read your posting. Doing reasearch on the Rondeau/ Robitaille side.Be happy to share what I have.

I am trying to find information on the family of Jane Edna POUDRIER, of Mass. She was married to my brother (FRENCH) who was serving in the Army at Fort Devens. They had a son Chris, b: 1968. I believe she has remarried and both her and her son have children. I don't know if she had siblings or when/where she was born in MA. I am trying to reconnect and exchange family tree data.

Ephrem Poudrier of St Gerard des Laurent, Quebec, Camada, died Wednesday at his home.

Besides his widow, Rose (Gelines) Poudrier, he is survived by a son, Paul Poudrier of Shawinigan Falls, Quebec, Canada; three daughters, Mrs. Roland LeVasseur, Mrs. Raymonde Deziel and Mrs Patricia Grenies, all of Shawinigan Falls; one brother, Edward Poudrier of Waterbury; two sisters, Mrs. Sweralde Garceau of Watertown, and Mrs. Rose Garceau of St. Elie, Quebec, Canada, and several grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Saturday from the St. Ours Funeral Home, Rue Champlain, Shawinigan Falls.

Hello,
I'm helping my mother-in-law trace her family. Here's what I have so far.

Edouard (various spellings) POUDRIER b. Oct. 19, 1849 married Emelie (various spellings) BLAIS. The 1901 Canada census had them in Saint Paulin, Maskinonge. So far I know of one son:

Evariste (Euchariste) POUDRIER b. Apr. 7, 1889 married Leona GRAVEL b. Dec. 1908.

Any information at all is greatly appreciated.

Hi all I am related to Poudrier by marriage and my wife would like to know more about her family her Grandfather was Herman Poudrier he was born on August 28, 1908 in RI and married Doris Bibeault also born in RI. As best I can tell his fathers name was Alfred Poudrier also born in RI in 1887. I can't seem to find any parents for this Alfred, I can only find one in the Census records but I'm not sure that it is him the bithdates don't seem to match. I also rememeber her (my wife) saying something about and Indian marriage in the family but again I'm not 100% sure any help would be great!! And of course I would be happy to share what I have.

My great grandmother was from Springfeild, she married a Goulet, she had 1 daughter (my me'mere) Claire(langevin) and 5 boys. I know one was named Harvey I dont know the others names. One died when he was young. I know she died in the early seventies and was 90 years old.

They were my paternal Grandparents. I, as well, am trying to put together our pedigree. I do know that Great-Grandfather was a Louie Poudrier and that we are somehow decendents of Michel Lemay, born around 1630 in France. It's everything in between I'm having trouble with. I believe we are also related to an Arthur Poudrier who ran a hotel somewhere in southeastern Canada until it burned down. Any help you can reciprocate with would be appreciated.

Hey Kellie!
I used to play with Paul(ie) and Donna when we were kids. I think I remember them living in or near Naugatuck, CT for awhile. I have a lot of stuff on our Family Tree and I just recently made the connection back to Michel Lemay who emmigrated from France to Quebec in 1659.
I am Donna & Paul Jr's first cousin, "Jackie", as a kid. Of course I prefer Jack these days. I am their Uncle John and Aunt Eva's (both deceased now) oldest son. I'm living in Oregon now.

My grandfather was Arthur Poudrier and managed the Kent Hotel (among others) above Montmorency (sp?) falls in Quebec. My father (Renald) has a new email address which I don't know just yet....email me for futher details. Steve Poudrier

Catherine Beegan was my great aunt, and she called herself Kattie. She sponsered my grandmother at her christening. She is buried in Victoria. Their son Charles Armond died in Flushing New York in 1968 and they had a nother child, Vinette, who is now deceased. Let me know if this is any help to you.

My dad was John Poudrier He lost his mother and sister in child birth when he was just a kid I never knew of my dads parents ,or much of his side of the family and I am wanting to find my roots for me and my children My dad had brothers Roman,Joe,Edward and they were raised in Greenville,New Hampshere. Hi my name is Sue and I believe you are talking about my grandfather Arthur Poudrier's parents. His father was Joseph Poudrier and he married an indian woman we have been told was iriquis. My grandfather married Robea Rondeau daughter of Thomas Rondeau and Emelia or Amilia Robitaille. They have four living children. Roland Poudrier, Pauline Doris Poudrier-Parent, Leo Poudrier, and Therese Rachel Poudrier-Bertora all in CT. Doris is my mother. any information you may have of my grandparents would be helpful. My grandfather Arthur Poudrier had a sister that died not so long ago in Canada. It would be neat to find out if we are relatives.

I believe you will find that if your ancestor was indeed a member of "The Nation," it was most probably of the Mohawk tribe given the part of Quebec you list. The Huron were not part of the confederation unless I've been misinformed.

There may be better information to be found at the St. Regis Reservation in Northern New York. (Adirondak area)

I am looking for any information regarding my grandfather.My fathers name was J.Edward Poudrier and I believe his fathers name was either Lewis or Louis and he lived in the Shawinigan Falls or Three Rivers area.I also believe his wife was a native American.If so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what tribe she belonged to.I understand it was part of the Iroquois Nation.If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.Thank You : Robert L.
