DOD Identifies Navy Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a sailor who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Petty Officer First Class Paris S. Pough, 40, of Columbus, Ga. died Feb. 17, during a port visit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Pough, a hull technician, was assigned to the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), home-ported in San Diego, Calif.

Dink's real name is Anzoleth Kansas Russell.
Her tombstone in Baxter County Arkansas reads:
Dink Pough
Anzoleth was born in North Carolina about 1853 to John M Russell and LeAnnah vanHook.

William Pough, Chatham County, NC

Does anyone know who the William Pough is on the 1800 census for Chatham County, NC? I believe he is my ancestor, Capt. William Polk born in Accomac County, VA. I don't see any Pough's in that county in any censuses before or after.

Hannah Pough married Joshua Shaw

Does anyone have any information on Hannah and Joshua? They probably married around Cape May, NJ but later moved to Tippecanoe Co., IN. Children were: James, Jane, Amos, Aaron, Nancy, Anne and Millicent. Several of the children married children of Nathan and Nancy Williams Townsend.

Their will be a Family Reunion for 2006 of July in Montgomery Alabama. It will be a Mardi Gra style Banquet Dinner . So get ready for this event. Tell all family members about this reunion thats coming in 2006. The dates are July 14-16, 2006. The price are $65 for adult 17 years and older. Children age 12 through 16 are $45 and kids 4 yrs -10 are $30 and 3 and under are free. More information will follower at a later date.

My name is velma pough. My father name was Manuel Frank Pough. My father's father name was Frank Pough who was married to Savannah. in Crenshaw Mississippi, we were born and raised. My mother's maiden name is Essie Lockett. Her mother name was Mrytle Esell-McGee and her father name was George Lockett. I'm looking for any information anyone can provide. Thanks!!!!

My name is Maria Lamar. I live in Philadelphia, PA. My father was Rozell Pough and his parents were Aaron and Leila Pough. There are a great deal of Poughs' located in the area under different spellings of the name. I don't know to much about the history of our family, but I have two aunt's left who do. One is in her late 80's. Since you are trying to research information I thought I'd respond.
