Preader is the only spelling that we know of that represents this particular family. It has been spelled Praeder though by folks who accidently changed the letters around.<br><br>We believe the original spelling was Preda or something similar. Our people come from a group of Islands called the Azores, 1,000 miles away from Portugal.<br><br>This group of Preaders originate from the San Jose, Ca., area and surrounding communities.
