Hi Dylan, none of the names sound familiar but that doesn't mean anything. My Preslars were from Union County too, my grandmothe was Cora Essie Preslar and she married Isom Sinclair, her fathers name was James Riley Preslar and we could vwery well hook up somewhere, would have ot get into my files to send you some information, and I would be glad to do that when I have time. Are you familiar with Ed Dunn? He knows a lot about the Preslars and many of them changed the name to different spellings, like Presley, Pressley, but it all started with Preslar.Would love to chat more with you, do you mind giving me your phone number? My grand paremts settled in Ansonville, N.C. and I don't think they ever left there. I've been told and I'm sure you have too, that we are related to Elvis Presley, hard to prove, I haven't been able to yet, because a lot of them spread out and like I said changed the spelling of their name.Hope to hear more from you.

I just started researching the Preslar/Presley/Pressler surname and I found your posting from quite some time ago. I hope you are still sharing information. My husband's mother was a Preslar. Her Great Grandparents were Matthew Preslar and Jane White. They were born & married in New York and they died in Ohio. I recently found them and their children in both the 1850 and 1860 Census, living with Enos in New York. The problem is that I don't know if Enos was his father, Grandfather, or I suppose he could have been his uncle. I don't want to assume anything. I would appreciate anything you can share with me. Looks like we hcome from the same line. If your Great-grandfather Alfred was son of Alvin. Alvin's brother was Sherrod, whose son was Elias Darling, whose son was Samuel Wilson, whose son was James Leroy (my great-grandfather. Don't know if you have ever seen the website below. Check it out.

Charles Moser 4 August 1872 in Union County, North Carolina. J. was born 1838. J. was the son of Henry Moser and Mary. J. died before June 1900. She married W. H. Aycock 16 August 1904.
349 iv. Joseph Preslar was born in Union County, North Carolina circa 1842.
350 v. Hosea Preslar was born in Union County, North Carolina circa 1845. He married Celia A. Baker 17 July 1865.
351 vi. Caswell Preslar was born in Union County, North Carolina circa 1847. He married Antinett Rheims 25 Sept. 1865.
352 vii. Alfred Preslar was born in Union County, North Carolina August 1854. Alfred died Between December 1908 and October 1912. He married Ellen A. Moser 29 January 1873 in Union County, North Carolina. Ellen was born 1853. Ellen was the daughter of William Moser and Lydia. Ellen died after 12 December 1915.

I was relooking my information last night and noticed that there was a Levi Presley age 10 in the 1850 census of Attala Co, MS. Attala Co, MS is adjacent to Rankin Co, MS, where my Levi Pressly b.1832 was married in 1859.
This is unlikely to be just a coincidence. Levi Presley age 10, was in the hh of Lewis Presley b.1799, SC. Lewis Presley is also listed in the 1830 and 1840 censuses of Union Co, SC.
My guess is that my Levi Pressley b.1832 is a nephew of Lewis Presley, but I need more information to confirm that.
This may still connect back to the Preslar / Presley family that is in Anson Co, NC. So far every Levi Presley / Preslar that I have confirmed the lineage on goes back to that family.

Preslar bibles - Anthony & Allen Presley families (NC>SC>AL)

Searching for the various family bibles belonging to the families of father Anthony Presley (Preslar) and his son Allen Presley (1792-1876). They came out of Anson Co., NC to Kershaw Co., SC and then Conecuh & Butler Cos., AL. Family letters indicate there were bibles handed down to descendants.

My G Grandfather was James Riley Presley married to Margaret Sykes (Sikes) they were from the Union and Newbern County area.
My grandmother was Cora Essie Preslar daughter of James Riley, who married William Isom Sinclair, would love to hear from you and share information.

Wendy, My gggreat grandfather was charles presley born 1834 some where in canada. He died 1870 in boylston ny. I am curious if he could be the "probley " sdon of John Preslar that you mention . I have pretty much hit a brick wall and am hoping you could help me. Charles married Mary Larmonth in boylston in 1857. thanks in advance

Leland was one of nine (9) children of Leslie Wilson Preslar b:14 sep 1882 Marsh Center, ID d:mar1974 Fullerton, Orange Co., CA M: 13 nov 1902 to Zoa Curtis
Leslie was the son of Henry Hightower Preslar b:abt 1854 Sparta, Bienville Parish, La. and Mary Matilda Hawkins b: 26 dec 1862 d: 14 aug 1956. Henry and Mary divorced and Mary Married Lehi Wright and had seven (7) more children.
Henry was one of ten (10) children of William Culpepper Preslar b: 7 apr 1827, Anson Co., NC d:7 oct 1915, Red River Parish, LA. M: 22 mar 1852 to Elizabeth Ann Hightower b;22 jun 1835, MS d: 1 feb 1914 Red River Parish, LA.
William was one of six (6) known children of Elias Preslar (Presley) b:abt 1800 NC and Mary (Polly) Webster b: abt 1800 NC.
It is possable but has not been proved that Elias was the son of Elias whose wife was Nancy, but ther are at least two other good candidates who are in the running.

I am tracing this line. My family has a ledger from 1831-1890. My ancestor's homeplace is on the NC/SC stateline where all three counties intersect....then, Anson County, NC (now Union, NC), Chesterfield County, SC and Lancaster, SC. They all intersect.

Trying to find information on N. Preslar who signs as a witness on a 1834 estate settlement along with Elias Preslar. Elias dies in 1835.

Was one of the descendants Floyd Preslar believed to have been born about 1800 ? Floyds wife was Ellender. I know he was from South Carolina as told in the 1850 census of Conecuh County Alabama. He is first recorded in the Conecuh county 1820 Census and believed to be the father of Holden Presley who was born in Alabama.

The 1850 Conecuh Co.Alabama census list them living next door with Floyd at the age of 50 and Holder at the age of 28.Does someone have a Bible ,death certificate,birth record or any other record that shows them to be father and son? We also know that Floyd had a brother name Holden to add to the confusion.The older Holden ,Floyds brother would have been born before 1800.
The webb site http://freepages.genealogy.roots.com/~eddunn/preslar/index.h... shows this relationship. It also stops in the 3rd generation for Floyd.This could be changed if someone has the evidence.

Levi Preslar / Pressley

Looking for information on Levi PRESLAR / PRESLEY listed in the 1840 census of Anson Co, NC on SHT 48. Who is his father? What happened to him after 1840 and who are his children? He would have been born between 1810 and 1820. From the 1830 and 1840 censuses, it appears that his father could be Stephen PRESLAR.

There are two Levi PRESLARs. The one on SHT 63 was born around 1800 and is evidently the same as the Levi PRESLEY in the 1850 census of Jackson Co, TN. He is also listed in the 1830 census of Anson Co, NC.

The reason why I am interested in the Levi PRESLARs / PRESLEYs listed in Anson Co, NC is that I am looking for the father of Levi PRESSLEY b. 1832 either GA or NC. The name Levi appears and the NC references seem to point back to this PRESLAR family in Anson Co, NC.

The first record I have of my Levi PRESSLEY is his marriage to Margaret Emily RENFRO on 26 Jun 1859, Rankin Co, MS. I have not been able to locate him in the 1850 census. Although the 1860 and 1870 censuses give his place of birth as GA, the 1870 census and most of the census records of his children indicate he was born in NC.

It is clear that he is not a son of Levi PRESLAR, who was born around 1800; but I have not ruled out the other Levi b. 1810/1820.

It looks likely that my Levi PRESSLEY could be connected with the Anson Co, NC PRESLAR / PRESLEY family, but I am not positive how.
