I'm looking for information on Floyd Edgar Pressley, Jr. of Asheville, North Carolina. Staff Sgt. Pressley served in the Army Air Force in World War II and was killed on January 17, 1945, while returning from a bombing mission against Iwo Jima in his B-24 "Hell from Heaven", on which he served as assistant engineer and waist gunner. I believe his parents to have been Floyd Edgar Pressley, Sr., (born 15 February 1896 and died 29 March 1977) and Carrie L. Davis Pressley (born 1901 and died 1981). He had two sisters, Malita Pressley and Mildred O. Pressley Ballard, born October 6, 1920 and died 5 July 1989 in Kings Mountain, NC). He also had an uncle named Clarence Davis. Staff Sgt. Pressley was initially declared missing in action, and then declared presumed dead, along with all the other members of his crew. I can be contacted at garyngina@earthlink.net.
