I am researching the above. He emigrated to Australia between 1840 and 1860. Married Jessie Wilson in Goulburn New South Wales in 1863 - they had 5 children. An article in a local Newspaper announcing the marriage states his mother as "Elizabeth Stevinson" and his place of birth as "native of London". He died in Goulburn, New South Wales 1975. His death cert states place of birth "Islington" UK - father Robert Preston (Profession : Surveyor), mother Elizabeth Power.
