MT. VERNON: A Military Service for John "Jack" Charles Preston, 91, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio (Knox County) will be held at 6:45 PM on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OHIO.
The family will receive friends from 5-6:45 PM Tuesday.

Mr. Preston, a retired dairy farmer, passed away on October 27, 2012 at Autumn Healthcare in Newark, Ohio.

He was born on December 7, 1920 in Columbus, OHIO to the late Albert and Florence (Miller) Preston.

Jack served in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII and received 5 Battle Stars.

He is survived by his daughter, Cora L. Powelson; grandchildren, Lee Preston and Donna Powelson; 4 great-grandsons and 1 great-great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Veradeen (Follrod) Preston; 2 infant sons; and brother, Glen Lee Preston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes.
