I have several Priebe's in my family. I have a Great great grandmother
Julia Priebe 1823-1878 married Peter Ponto (Pontow) in Prussia.
My Dad Eugene Kelm also had a Aunt (? Knaack)that married Earnest Priebe (around 1893)
Many of my relatives had farms as shown on the county platt of 1876
in Shields and Mecan township they were
Fenske, Ponto, Priebe and Knaack. It seems that in small
farming area that many of the relatives remarried into the
same family names generations later. Does any one have Priebes
from This area??? I can supply more information upon
request.
