I have been working on my tree for a while now and have now made contact with some distant relatives - we have all helped fill in a lot of blanks on our trees :-)

One person in my tree that is stopping me going any further is Ralph Priestley b.1851 in Fenton, Staffs. He married Harriet Rowland in 1871 in Wolstanton, Staffs.

I have found Ralph on the census sheets for 1851,1861,1871,1881,1891 and 1901:

1901 ralph presley - RG13; Piece: 2594; Folio: 53; Page: 43 - diff wife (hannah - looks like a typo) age 50

1891 ralph priestley - RG12; Piece: 2183; Folio 50; Page 21 - age 40

1881 ralph priestly - RG11; Piece: 2736; Folio: 71; Page: 52 - age 30

1871 ralph presley - RG10; Piece: 2851; Folio: 61; Page: 16 - age 20

1861 ralph presley - RG9; Piece: 3516; Folio: 32; Page: 9 - age 10 (mexborough - Doncaster)

1851 ralph j berley - HO107; Piece: 2006; Folio: 430; Page: 9 - age 4 months - fenton. Name clearley mis-transcribed (indicated by the word 'son'!!)

Ralphs Father was William Priestley, b.1827, d.1907 in Tunstall, Stoke on Trent - i have a copy of his death certificate which has Ralphs' sister as present at the death.

I am pretty confident that I have traced this correctly but really need someone who is a bit more experienced to confirm my findings too. so here's is what i would like:

1. Someone to tell me I have got this right ;-)

2. As this tree is pretty hard to trace i suspect that there are others in the same position as me. If you think we may have a link get in touch!
