I am still trying to solve the mystery of why a Priestley Syndicate was formed around 1890 to lay claim to large areas of land and property in and around Shelf (between Halifax and Bradford, Yorkshire). Some may have read my book on the subject, which can be found at Bradford and Halifax Public Libraries. The ringleader was Rebecca Crellin nee Priestley and others were Abraham Priestley, Albert Priestley and Elizabeth Naylor nee Priestley. After 1893 a pamphlet was published that asked for people to contribute money to the syndicate for a share in any proceeds. I am looking for evidence to substantiate the Priestley claim, and to find a family connection between Rebecca, Abraham, Albert and Elizabeth.
I must assure everyone that my motive is to solve a mystery that I have researched for 15 years, NOT for any financial gain, the possibility of which is long since gone!
Please help if you can.
