Hi There...

My Ancestors (mothers side) arrived in Port Phillip on the 22nd Oct 1841 onboard the "Grindlay" after a terrible voyage from Greenock, where the ship they actually departed on the "India" was destroyed by fire off the coast of Rio De Janeiro. Their names were John PRIMROSE & Isabella ROBERTSON. Some family researchers have told me that Johns middle name was Archibald, but i haven't found any documentation to prove that.

John was born in 19/1/1809 Edinburgh, Midlothianm Scotland to a William & Janet PRIMROSE nee BROWN. He was Christened in St Cuthberts Edinburgh. He was the oldest of three boys (as far as we know). George Guild b.1811 & William b.1814 being the other two Children. All three Children were born in Edinburgh, Midlothian, which is also where William & Janet were married 27/5/1809.
My Grandfather once told me that Janets Fathers name was Ebenezer?

Anyway back to Australia...
John & Isabella PRIMROSE had five children, three in Scotland; Emily Amelia b.1835, Isabella Elizabeth b.1837 and Daniel b.1839 (there is no further information on Daniel... cannot find a death or any records at all after birth/christening. Maybe he died in the fire on voyage?
Two more children afer arrival in Geelong, Vic.
George Duncan Mercer b.1844 & Frances Ann b.1846

Was wondering if anyone has any link to these Families? Maybe we can exchange information and assist each other?

Thanks
