Surnames: Probasco, Fuller, Hissim
Hi. I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I found out that my gg grandfather was adopted through marriage and his real father's surname was Probasco. And here I had his mother's second husband's family traced back to 1720...ah well. My gg grandfather's name was Clarence Probasco/Perbasco and he was born in Harmony twp, NJ on 1 Apr 1886. His mother was Julia Eva Fuller who later married George Hissim when Clarence was around 5 years old. Clarence used the name Hissim his whole life and didn't even find out that he had another name until he tried to collect social security, weird huh?
So, through the census, I found the family of Daniel L. Probasco with wife Catherine in Harmony twp., Warren Co. NJ. They had 8 children but one had died by 1900. I'd like to know if anyone has info on this family or (cross your fingers) can connect it to my gg grandfather. Kids I have so far are, Josephine
George
Mahala (think this is Mary)
Isaac or Isaiah
Anna
Ida
Nettie
So, I'm missing one which may have died young. I feel like I've been waiting forever for Clarence's birth certificate and was hoping someone was connected to this family. Thanks for reading my really long post.
