This message is quite old. I don't have any information on them as they are not my family. What I do have is a photo...but since this was a long time I would have to find it. I try to place a copy of the photo with descendants who are tracing their family history. I do charge a small fee to cover my own expenses and to replace so I can buy additional photos for other people. if interested you can email me at mseshea@optonline.net

Hi,
I have never heard of anyone surnamed Probasco who comes from Italy; we know the family to be from Breslau, Silesia. The ancestor of the Probasco family in America came from Breslau and emigrated to Brooklyn NY in 1654. You can learn more from my web site www.gwensarchive.com or from Nora Probasco's web site. I'd like to know more about your ancestor to see why his name was Probasco.
Gwen Fuller
Arlington VA

I'm not as bad now, maybe 2 -3 hrs a day only. For me, that is good! lol. I use to wonder if they werent haunting me from the grave to find them! I was pretty bad! It was the last thing I did at nite, and the first thing I did in the morning! Sometime a shower didnt see me till noon! lol

Thier son James Patrick Tracy was the father to my son in law's mother.
The work I did on Probasco etc only falls into the line, but I enjoy gen. so much, that I sometimes dont just do a branch of the tree, but also little limbs! lol Iv been doing gen now for over 10 yrs and do it nearly every day, so sometimes I get way beyond my little branchs. lol

AM ALSO TRYING TO SEE IF I CAN GET A COPY OF THE NEWSPAPER ON MAY6, OR 7TH ABOUT THE HOMICIDE OF BERNARD MENGE ON COMPTON AVE. IN 1905. BERNARD WAS ONLY 38 YEARS. I THINK THAT HIS EARLY DEATH CAN BE THE CAUSE OF SO MUCH CONFUSION. THANX SHIRLEY

FROM WHAT I HAVE LEARNED THERE IS ONLY ONE ELIZABETH FOX MENGE. SHE MARRIED HIRAM PROBASCO , HAD ALREADY 2 CHILDREN, LAURA AND BERNARD. ON BERNARD'S DEATH CERTIFICATE IT HAS HIS PLACE OF BIRTHA AS LOUISIANA , THERE IS A MENGE HOMEPLACE THERE AND RELATIVES I HAVE VISITED THERE. BUT JUST FINDING OUT ELIZABETH MARRIED HIRAM PROBASCO MAKES ME WONDER WHAT WAS THE NAME OF HER HUSBAND THAT SHE HAD HER CHILDREN BY. BERNARD WAS MURDERED IN 1905 WITH FUNERAL SERVICES FROM HIS MOTHER'S HOME, ELIZABETH PROBASCO ON MORGAN STREET. NOW MY ONLY MYSTERY IS WHO IS THE CHILDREN'S FATHER, THAT IS BERNARD AND LAURA'S FATHER. THERE IS A BURIAL OF ANDREW H. MENGE IN THE PLOT THAT HIRAM, ELIZABETH, BERNARD AND CHARLES PROBASCO IN THAT PLOT. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO CHARLES PROBASCO IS. THERE IS AN INFT. OF CHARLES PROBASCO BURIED IN THAT PLOT ALSO. WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP.

Do you know of a connection between Andrew H. Menge and Hiram Probasco. They were buried on the same day in 1893. Do you know of the connection between the Menge family and the Probasco. It is starting to look like maybe Andrew's wife was Elizabeth Probasco after his death( or maybe Elizabeth Probasco was Hiram Probasco's wife) I am truly confused who Andrew and Hiram are in relation to my Grandfather Bernard Menge who is also buried in that same grave are connected: and maybe she married Charles Probasco after Andrew's death. Any help would be good.
Shirley Menge

Children are Laura 5, Bernard 2, Barber, Ella 15.

1880 census Hiram is 49 and born Missouri. Wife Lizzie is 36. Children are Laura 13, Bernard 13, Rosa 9, Andrew 6, Bertha 4, and Solomon 1. Note: there seems to be a mistake from the census taker on the children's ages. All children are born in Missouri.
