Hello, My ggggrandfather, Martin b. 1819, emigrated here with his wife Johanna Wilhemina Timner,from Prussia in 1886. They settled in Oconto, Wisconsin, and I can't seem to find any other relatives. There are also Prochnows in Gillett, WI, but I don't see a connection.

My father was a McNeil; my mother a Kittler and grew up in Oconto. I went to school with Shelby Zima, who at the time, was dating Bobby Lockstein.
I married a Martin and did research on his family.
I would love to trade info.

During my research on the Walsh family, I found that Edwin R. Walsh married Jennie H. Prochnow in Dade county Fl 1952.

They were married about a yr or less, because Edwin marroed my Mother shortly there after.

My ggrandather, Gottlieb Johan Kittler, b. 1845 in Silberburg, Pommeranzea, Prussia, married Augusta Prochnow, b 1846 in Prussia. Emigrated to US in 1890 and resided in Wisconsin. Would love to find some relatives for him.

I have seen postings from 2001 & 2002 by Bev Petersen regarding Prochnow surname in connection with placename Rugelwalde. Her old email address no longer valid. Hoping she is still researching and may respond to this post. Also Schimmelpfenning whom I believe married into Prochnows from this same area.

This sounds intersting. No records I have are verifiable regarding date of immigration or exact records or names. Three brothers Carl, Wilhelm and August Procknow supposedly landed in Canada approximatley 1850-60's. It is possible August was a cousin, last name of Schultz. That surname appears later as my fathers father. The oral history associates the Tronto, Canada area with residences in the Detroit and "thumb" area of Michigan for the this Proch(k)now group. Carl was the father of Karl Procknow who adopted my father after his mother Bertha Procknow passed away. I do not have much evidence of family hisory prior to the Uncles birth. Most of it would be conjecture and based upon social knowledge of the times and ethnic backgrouds. I know first cousins sometimes married, and family groups where very tight knit. If you desire to shed more light upon the history as I remember it, possibly we could converse by telephone. Let me know. Thanks, for your time Cletus Procknow

Prochnows from Rugenwalde

Am researching Prochnow family from Rugenwalde. Early 1860's Churchbook records in Ontario Canada say "Regenwald" but thinking perhaps the same placename. Wilhelm Prochnow, born in July 1829, came to Canada about 1854. One child born to Wilhelm Prochnow & Louisa Mantenfel (Hermann about 1853 Germany died in Ontario). Later wife, Elizabeth Thoel from same area Germany. Sister Amelia b1840 also came Canada at same time or close to and married John Dietz. Auguste Otilie Pauline b1834 & Frederike Louise b1830 also came to Canada similar emigration date on census for Canada. Not sure but they may have been siblings. Any guidance you are able provide regarding these individuals or doing research in area of Regenawald would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for infomation on my g-grandmother Augusta Prochnow born 1866 in Germany. She married Thomas Lenz in 1889 in Central City, NE. He parents were Wilhelm Prochnow & Freidrickee Schultz. When she died in 1921 both of her parent were still living in Germany according to her obit. I can't seem to find any relatives she came to the US with. Any help would be appreciated.

No, I have not come across a Friedrich or Wilhelmia.

Both of Albert's and Martha's parents appear to have been born in Gross Tychow/Pommern/Prussia .

PROCHNOW, HOFFMANN

Anna Maria came to the US in 1866, with her son August and his wife Caroline and thier children Bertha and Julius. They were headed to Ohio and ended up in Cibolo, TX. She had 3 other boys that I know of, I do not know of her husband, The boys are August (b. 1832) married to Caroline ? when they came to the US, then when she died married Albertine HOFFMANN, lived in Williow City, Cave Creek TX. Johann Friedrich Wilhelm (b. 1827) married to Emilie Hinz, lived in Cibolo TX. Fritz (b. 1838) married Amelia (Emilia) HOFFMANN, Albertine's sister), lived in TX. Julius (b. 1844) married Berta Willmann. All ended up in TX. Would appreciate any info on Anna Maria PROCHNOW, her husband, and the HOFFMANN sisters, as well as her boys.

Well, I haven't run across any Spiegelbergs in my family tree of yet.
On my website at http://www.triwolf.com/germanic/
I show the information I have on the Prochnow's.
Do you know if your Prochnow's came from Gross Tychow/Pommern/Prussia .
The Labs came from another parish nearby town to Gross Tychow called Kussow.
Depending on what generation we are talking about, the marriage of another Labs and Prochnow makes me think there would have to be a connection.

I'm looking for any connections to the Ulricke and Wilhelm Prochnow family. Ulricke Prochnow's maiden name was Fuhrman. So far, I am aware of only two of their children: Albert(1867-1932) and Martha(1873-1930). Ulricke lived with Martha and her husband August Labs for a few years.
Albert married Albertine Labs(1865-1919).
These folks lived in Douglas County in the Jefferson Pct. near Bennington and Elkhorn.

I am trying to find out more information about her death I understand she was very young she died Nov 28 1975 she was only 37or 38. she lived on lauterbach Germany and was married to a Stoppler in Lauterbach. Can anyone help me find out more. Her name was Irene Stoppler geb Prochnow.
she had me in Geissen Germany in 1963.

My GGMother was Hulda Wilhelmina Procknow, born in 1856 in Germany. As I have very little info on the Procknows I can only say at this time I do not have any Zoch's in our line. My Hulda's parents are Wilhelm Prochnow & Caroline Fredrichs or Frederichs; siblings: Albert, Augusta, Carl and Herman. Help! from all you Procknows out there.

when was your Wilhelmine prochnow born? my ggrandmother was Emma prochnow she married Edward barnard. Emma had a sister named minnie. It's possible your Wilhelmina was emma's sister. Hi, I might have a connection for you in Winchester/Winnconne, WI. There are prochnow's in that area in which I am related too, but the Labs or Laabs...is also a part of my family.
I know of the Labs or Laabs that are married to the Spiegelbergs in Winchester/Larsen. Are those related to your Albert Labs???? If so, we are related. I am starting my work on the Prochnows, but I may be able to help you a little. Let me know

I was wondering if you know who your Albert Prochnow's parents were???? Have you come across a Friedrich (Fredrich) Prochnow and Wilhelmina Caroline Mai?? That's who's connection that I have so far... according to church records.

I have 2 siblings confirmed, and 1 other that is more then likely a brother that also immigrated in the 1880's.
They first went to Michigan and then Wisconsin.
All were born in Germany (Prussia) it's listed both ways in the census.
The 1 sibling not confirmed yet... was born in 1852 in Gerjagen, Pommern, Deutschland. and he died about 1913 in Wisconsin. August Fredrick Edward Prochnow. He married Wilhelmina Kabke.

Amelia, John, and Henrietta Prochnow

I am still trying to find out more about Amelia Prochnow who was the sister to John and Henrietta Prochnow. I would like to know where she was born, what ship she came to the USA on and where Henrietta and John entered USA. Amelia was separated from the family and although she didn't see them again her children visited Midland MI. I have pictures of that visit which include my husband's family and the people they visited. I would very much like to know more about this part of the family. My father-in-law is 90 years old and in these pictures he and his twin brother are in their teens or early 20's.
