Sturbridge.MA..Marie A. Proulx, age 99, of Main St. died Monday at home. She is survived by a niece Constance (Proulx) Ryczek of Southbridge, and a great-niece Elizabeth (Martel) and her husband Steve DiFederico of Sturbridge and a great-nephew Michael and his wife Patricia Martel of Mendon, and many great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 4 brothers Edmond, Rene, Armand, and Fernand Proulx and 3 sisters Honoria Proulx, Antonia (Proulx) Martel, and Sister Eudoxie Proulx. She was born in St. Hyacinthe, Canada daughter of Dosithé and Hermine (Nadeau) Proulx, and lived in Sturbridge most of her life.
She was a member of St. Anne's Church in Fiskdale, and retired from the American Optical Co where she was a member of the firm's Quarter Century Club. The family would like to thank Heritage Home Health Care of Sturbridge and the Jewish Home Hospice, Inc. of Worcester for the wonderful care provided to Miss Proulx.
The funeral will be Thursday June 25th from Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy St. Southbridge with a Mass at 10AM at St. Anne's Church 16 Church St. Fiskdale. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery in Southbridge. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home from 8:30-9:30AM prior to the mass. Donations may be made in her memory to St Anne's Church 16 Church St. Fiskdale, MA 01518 or to Jewish Home Hospice, Inc. 631 Salisbury St. Worcester, MA 01609.
