The prudden's buried at Ft. Meigs are my grandparents, great grandparents and my grandfathers brother Horton Prudden. I did a road trip across the county this past summer and stopped at the cemetary.

Am going to England soon and wondering what I should look for in relation to Pruden family. Have seen reference to "first written record of John Prudden (born 1416) in the books of the church at Kingswalden (Our Lady of Kingswalden), Hertfordshire County. Does anyone know if this church still exists and how to find it. Or are there any other records/locations I should seek out while there. Thanks so much.

Yes, we did go to England last June and did find the church. We took the train from London to the Luton Airport Station. This was important because we were advised not to get off at the Luton Station which was after the Airport Station. We easily got a cab there and between our MapQuest directions and the driver's GPS, we were in Kings Walden in about 15-20 minutes. There was a very nice lady who runs the small landscape nursery across from the church - Louise - who had a key so we were able to go in. The church records are in Hitchin, however. So if you want to go there, or spend more time exploring the area, then I suggest renting a car.

I was looking through Prudden geneology and found this. My husband and I are going to England in May and I wondered if you found the church in Kings Walden or any information that might be of interest.I am a relative and would love to find out where Rev Peter Prudden was born and lived till he came to Milford. Can you help me? Hope i hear back from you.

Horton Rorick Prudden published a history of the Prudden family called "Peter Prudden and his Descendants in America" in 1983. He was also researching the Rorick family as well.

Thay are the parents of Horton R. JR.,James Davidson and Jeffrey Packard on this stone Descendants of rev. Peter Prudden - 1600 -- 1656 first pastor and founder of Milford. Connecticut.

I am a decendant as well. My great uncle Horton Prudden wrote a book on the lineage of the Prudden family. Try Barnes and Noble. Good Luck!

Sarjeant Willm Fowler, attorney for Mr. John Davenport junior, of Newhaven, entered an action of the case against Mrs. Joanna Prudden of Milford, concerning a horse taken up & detained by her; Jasper Gunn appeared as her attorney to answere the sute.

I am not related to this family, I'm just passing on this information I found while reading a book titled "Records of the Colony or Jurisdiction of New Haven, from May 1653 to the Union. I am seeking info on Sarah Unknown who m/1 Boyce/Bois John Prudden, son of Joseph Prudden and Joanna Lyon.
It is my understanding that Sarah was b. ca 1722 in Morristown, Morris Co, NJ and m. Boyce/Bois John Prudden in that location in 1743.

Evidently Boyce/Bois then died before 1 May 1751 in Morristown as this is the marriage date of Sarah, widow of Boyce John Prudden, to my ancestor Samuel Munson of
Morristown. Samuel and Sarah then went to North Carolina where I believe their son Samuel (also my ancestor) was born in 1763.

I'd like to find more info on Sarah and her maiden name and her children with Boyce/Bois John Prudden.

Doug has already e-mailed me and I gave him my mom's e-mail address. She is the one who did most of the work on the family tree. I'm just getting more information to go with it. When he gets the tree from Mom I can give him the information I found. It won't make sense until he has the family tree.

I have a family tree dating back to 1416/1418 with a John Prudden from hertfordshire Co. England. I was wondering if it goes farther back then that? I might have a family crest also. james and wilma prudden were my aunt and uncle. Both are gone now. Wilma with cancer and James with heart trouble. My father Ralph Edgar Prudden Sr. is gone also. The sisters are all alive and have many stories to share. Doug, Shelly, nad Randy are all alive and doing well. Please cntact me. I have a family tree dating back to 1416.

Have you attempted your search under the last name Pruden. Many seem to have dropped the double "D" There is a Max Pruden that shows up with a California address under the white pages. Maybe he is the one you are looking for or maybe he is another son. Just thought I would try and help. Good luck!

Am searching for information on Phebe Prudden who apparently is my GGGGrandmother. All the information I have indicate that she was married to Aaron Woodruff and that they were the parents of my GGGrandfather Daniel P. Woodruff who (per the Woodruff Family Bible) was born on 27 August 1827 in Mendham, Morris County, NJ. According to certain records she died on 15 April 1861. Children were Albert, Mary E., Daniel P., Benjamin P., Julia Ann, Elias L., Harriet N., George F., John L., Theodore F., and William M.

Would appreciate any information that could validate the link.

PAINTED POST-- Fred A. Pruden, 70, of West High Street. Formerly of Beaver Dams, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000 at home.

He was retired from Dresser-Rand Corp. and Had just received his 45-year pin.

Survivors include three sons, Timothy Pruden of Painted Post, Monty Pruden of Manchester, CT, and Randy Pruden of Beaver Dams; two daughters, Gail Melens of Horsehead and Deborah Bulkley of Corning; a brother, Raymond Pruden of Shady Hill, FL; five sisters, Dorothy Ros of Addison, Shirley Reed of Myrtle Beach, SC, Olive Rebbec of Peoria, IL, Evalyn Pruden of Glasford, IL, and Betty Bellows of New Mexico.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning.

Service will be held there at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Coopers cemetery, Coopers Plains.

I think you will find that the Sarah Miller Prudden who married Samuel Munson was the sister NOT the wife of Bois John Prudden - children of Joseph Prudden and Joanna Lyon

Sarah did have a second husband - Benjamin Halsey

Bois married Wlizabeth Baldwin & Sarah - Last Name Unknown

Have you checked the Munson Family Website for information on the Munson's? There are also a series of books printed tracing this family

As far as I can tell, Boyse and Elizabeth Pruden (the name was changed during the Revolutionary War) lived with their son Gabriel Pruden and his family in Greene Co., PA. I have no dates on their deaths. ----Paul Pruden
