Andrew Jackson Pruett, who married Mary Elizabeth Sims, was a twin to Anderson Pruett, sons of Joseph B. Pruett. Andrew Jackson and Anderson were brothers to my great grandfather, Davis Marion Pruett, born 1855 in Georgia.

Joseph B. Pruett and Manerva Pruett are buried in the Heflin Cemetery, Moulton, Lawrence County, Alabama.

I believe Joseph B's father was named Davis Daniel or Daniel Davis Pruett. My great grandfather Davis Marion Pruett was married to Phereby Johnson. They are both buried in Good Hope, Cullman County, Alabama.

At least one of Joseph B's sons is buried in Winston County (Samuel Daniel Pruett).

Emeline Pruett Hood, daughter of J.B. is also buried in Heflin Cemetery, Moulton, Lawrence County, Alabama.

There is always a bit of confusion because there were two Andrew Jackson Pruetts. The elder Davis Daniel, Joseph B's father, married a second time to Nancy Woodson. They had two sons, Andrew Jackson and James Alexander

There is a family reunion in Cullman County in July (I think it is the second Sunday) and any and all of the descendants of Davis Daniel and Joseph B. are welcome to attend.

I am looking for information on Harriet Pruett, born around 1860 in Iowa. She was unmarried and living in Marion County Iowa in 1879. She gave birth to a son, Harry Gilbert Davis, out of wedlock. Supposedly a young "troubadour" named Joe Davis (possibly Joseph W. Davis) came through town and impregnated several women before skipping town.

If anyone has any information to support or refute this information OR if anyone can provide me with any additional information on Harriet Pruett's background I would be VERY appreciative.

I have an obituary for Mrs. Will Pruitt. It follows:

~~~~~~Mrs. Will Pruitt passed away at her home Mon, Jan 21, after an illness of a year or more. Her remains were laid to rest in the Owensburg cemetery beside her daughter. (The Bloomfield News, Bloomfield, IN, Jan 24, 1918.)

Note: Martha Pruett ~ Died Jan 21, 1918 is buried at Plot I-19F at Owensburg Cemetery, Owensburg, Indiana. The newspaper spelled the last name "Pruitt”; however, the stone for Pearl, Martha's daughter, had the name spelled
Pruett. Pearl only lived 1 year, 7 months, 24 days (Feb 5, 1886-Sep 29, 1887). (Someone gave me the newspaper clipping with the obituary. Right now I can't remember who gave it to me. If I run across who gave me the paper, I will let you now.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is no stone for Martha, however, there is a stone for Pearl. She is buried at Plot I-20F. If you want to see a picture of Pearl's headstone, you can go on "Find A Grave" website and look for it at Owensburg Cemetery. I also have pictures of the stones at Owensburg Cemetery on Snapfish web site where you can order prints if you wish to do that. Let me know if you would like to see the pictures on Snapfish.

Have any of your Pruetts/Pruitts had DNA done.? A member of our family has, and would like to check against other Pruett's DNA, hoping for connections. If so, please contact me.

I have been unable to find who are the parents of my husband's g-grandfather, Francis Marion Pruett, b. apx. 1832 in either AL or GA; he married Caroline Burgess; their children and approx. birth years were: Lilly A, 1861/62; William J, 1862; Barzilla J. (female) 1863; Joshua Franklin, 1868; Mary E., 1872; Margaret V., 1876; Essie L., 1879.

The first three children were born in AL, next two in TN, and last two in AL. Francis Marion and some of his children are buried at Bethel Cemetery, in Clay Co. AL. They lived nearby, just across the county line near Delta in Cleburne County.

Our Francis Marion Pruett's family and that of another of the same name are sometimes incorrectly intermixed in some online family trees and publications. The two men are probably related. I would love to find the parents of our FMP.

Gayle, I remember you too. You came and help me paint the inside of my house. Do you remember that. Are you still married to the same man? So I am assuming this Michele is Briggs daughter. I have never talked to her, but Briggs told me about her. I asked him before he got near death if he wanted me to find her for him. He did not, he said things are better the way they are. From what I under stand he gave up rights to her to a man the mother was going to marry. I assume the mom is Barbara? Yesterday I talked to a Rob Merrifield who I found on google too because they had Briggs listed on their class mates who had died. Plus I remember Briggs talked to him alot in his last couple of months. Your sister Ginger was the nurse correct? I am so sorry about all the deaths you had to deal with. Who would murder Ginger? Was it that crazy boyfriend she talked about? What illness does Candy have? How is her oldest boy, is always reminded me of Briggs. Tell me how did every one know about the Michele thing? This illness Candy has must have came from their Mother's side of the family. Because Brigg's dad always would tell me that Briggs was the youngest Pruett to die. It was 11 years this January since he passed and I sill think about him every day. Thou I have things of his around my house that always reminds me of him. His rocking chair, I still have his bath robe. Has his dad passed away too? I looked on the list of Pruetts buried at that cemetary in Wheellock, Tx where Briggs is buried I did not see William on the list. It would be nice to maybe meet for lunch and talk let me know if you would like to and I will send you my cell phone number. I am so glad you answered me back.

Hello there! I talked to your mother today at work. We got to talking about how many children she had and she told me about them and about her ex-husband. I found the whole thing very interesting and thought I would do some "looking around" to see if I could find anything about your father. I saw your post here on Ancestry.com and just HAD to respond. Have you found out anything since this post? What a mystery, huh??

Yes, I remember you. I came to visit with you and Briggs several times. I brought Candy there. I was also there at the hospice the night Briggs died.

My sister, Ginger also came. I had a string of deaths and just don't keep up with many people anymore. After Briggs died, Feb. 1999, my dad died in Nov., then mom in July 2000, then my sister, Ginger, was murdered in Dec. 2001, followed by her younger son, who took his own life in Aug. 2002.

Candy is still alive, though I e-mailed her she is slow to get back to me, and I called on Friday night, and her answering machine was messed up.

I was going to e-mail her again tonight and see if she responds. She is ill, but keeps on going. Her illness is hereditary, and that was one reason I was looking for Michele.

The other reason was, I wanted her to know she had an aunt out there who was a nice person. And I still do genealogy, and maybe Michele would be interested in it.

Did you ever hear from Michele? It would be nice to at least say "hello."

I have found all the Pruett's back to TX, VA and England.

RANSOM/RANSON PRUETT, b.1825 burke county, nc

I'm looking for information about a Ransom/Ranson Pruett born in 1825 in burke county, nc. On his son David's death certificate (b.1849) it lists the mother as Peggy Smith from NC. I can find exact records on her because i'm not sure of her birthdate but she is listed on the death certificate as born in burke county. She may have been a slave because most of the possible matches i've found have her race listed as black. any information would be greatly appreciated.
