Marion Columbus Puckett and Mary Viola Rakes were my grandparents. The list of children is a little incorrect as follows: Talley is Tollie (he was my father); Allie and Elora are one and the same (she was Allora, known as Allie)

Mandy, I believe your William H Puckett was a son of William Harrison Pucket and wife Mahala Johnston/Johnson from Hart County, Kentucky they had a child named William H who was born in the late 1860's. They were in Fannin County, TX in 1880 and Mehallie Puckett is listed with son Oscar in the Creek Nation, Indian Territory. Many of the children of William Harrison and Mahala/Mehalie Pucket were in Hughes County, OK in the 1920 census. One daughter, Florence married Wm Brittain and Lura/Laura married John V. Blanton

William C Puckett is my G G Grandfather. He was married to Elizabeth Nancy Jordan and was Henry Douglas Puckett's Father. Henry Douglas is my Great Grandfather. Henry Douglas is a Civil War Hero at Chancellorsville, VA. I was born and raised in Campbell County Virginia on the Puckett Farm. I know all the Pucketts trace back to John "The Emmigrant", but I have conflicting information re: William C's father and Grandfather. Can you share any light on this progression?

I have Estell Bernard Puckett in my family tree database as a 6th cousin, twice removed (2 generations from a 6th cousin relationship). Our common Puckett ancestor is John Puckett I (1625 ~ 1677), and wife Anne Jefferys.

No stories on him, but glad to share what I have if you don't already have his line back to John I.

I have been trying to find the parents of Hopeni(various spellings) Puckett of Wake/Nash/Franklin counties in NC. He was born CA 1790, married Willie Powell, 06 May 1825 in Nash Co, NC

There was an Abraham Puckett living in Nash Co, Halifax District in 1790 who is of the correct age to have been his father.

Does any of this match your information on Abraham Puckett?

Frank Allen Puckett Sr. born 7/21/1898 in Lee County, TX. He married Elva Artilla Teague and he had a brother named Thomas Lee Puckett. Their father and mother were Sarah Jane Osteen and Charlie Puckett. I do have information on Sarah Jane Osteen's family back to the Quattlebaum's. I don't have any information on Charlie Puckett or his line. Anything else you could offer would be awesome.

My grandparents were Henyr Sylvester Puckett and Mary Della Lindsey. Not much info on the Lindseys except Mary Della's parents were John H.abt. 1854 and Mary C abt 1856. At the present time, I don't know of any relationship.
The father of James Dallas was William. And we think that his father was William. We think that they are descendents of Jacob "Jake" Puckett from the Patrick County Va. area.

Puckett, (I don't even have birth dates), I do know from my grandmothers surnames that she also went by a Davis and Smoot. Well, my records show the Puckett's started out in Virginia and spread out from there. I can trace several that went south to SC. My ancestors went to KY.

Please help out just a little bit. Do you have any names to go along with this post. I know a little about the Puckett family in Hart Co Ky and I am myself am a member of the line that came from South Caroline via Timothy Puckett/Ephriam Puckett Orangeburg SC. I though do not know of any of Puckett's that you mention having come through Ohio Co KY.

There is one line that did come from Virgina through the line of Steven Covington/Newbel Puckett that settled in Hart Co KY. This line though has been proven to be a separate line of Puckett via 'Y' Chrmomosome testing.

Also found that Ernest E. Puckett, born 1936, and Saundra J. Davis, married in 1956, divorced in Aug 1966 in San Diego City, CA, per California Divorce Index 1966 - 1984. US Public Records index shows Ernest alive in 1993. All these sources on Ancestry.com subscription database.

Hi,

Here's what I've found so far.

Mimia Puckett born 14 Aug 1926 in Perry Co., KY, according to Kentucky Birth Index 1911 - 1999. Says mother is Elizabeth (Lizzie) Taulbee.

A Mimia Brown, born 14 Aug 1926, is listed as having passed on 4 Oct 2004 according to Social Security Death Index for KY.

1930 census for Magisterial District 2, Breathitt Co., KY, has her as Mima, with father Arthur (age 40, born around 1890) and mother Lizzie (age 25, born around 1905). Also listed in census is brother Ruford/Buford, age 8.

Kentucky Pirth Index lists this as Buford Puckett born 15 Jun 1922 in Breathitt Co., KY with mother Lizzie Taulbee. Another son listed in index is Arthur Puckett, born to Lizzie Taulbee on 18 Sep 1920. Kentucky Death Index lists this Arthur as passing the same day, 18 Sep 1920.

1920 census for Precinct 14, Breathitt Co., KY, lists an Arthur Puckett, but age 39 or born around 1881, and wife Lizzie, age 19, or born around 1901. Shows a son William, age 9, or born around 1911. Reason for thinking this couple, despite age differences from 1920 to 1930 census, is the same, is that the couple in 1920 census has many Taulbee neighbors.

All I've found so far, and will keep looking for further on this Arhtur Puckett, but hope this helps a bit.

Hello,

In my database, I have an Ernest Edward Puckett, born 17 Nov 1936, in Washington Co. KY. Wife listed as Saundra Jane Davis.

I have them with a son Ernest Edward Puckett, Jr. (no birth date), as well as a son Donald Treffield Puckett, and a daughter Tamy Jane Puckett. However, assuming Ernest Sr. at least 16 before had Ernest Jr., then would put Ernest Jr. being born in early / mid 1950s / 60s.

Do any of these names /dates / location track with your info? If so, then Ernest E. Puckett, Sr. my 5th cousin, and glad to share what family info I have.

What's your specific line, which Pucketts are you looking for? I have Pucketts in my database, some related, some not, who are in various of the Bell Co., TX census postings, and some in Lee Co.

I am helping my friend with his family tree. Puckett is a name that we came across. The people we dead-ended at were Arthur PUCKETT who was married to a Lizzie. They had a daughter named Mimia BROWN (nee PUCKETT), no idead who Mimia's husband was. Any information on these people and their ancestors would be appreciated. I believe they are from Kentucky.
