MUSCATINE - Marie F. Pulliam, 72, of 117 E. Fulliam Ave., died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Services will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Ostrem of the Zion Lutheran Church will officate. Pallbeares will be Jerry Stark, Jim Pulliam, Lyle Estabrook, Tom Fahy, Terry Porter, Larry Terrill, Pat Oberhaus and Doug Roelle. Honorary Bearers will be Dave Reusswig, Jim Bateman and Denny Lohman.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hospital Auxiliary.
Mrs. Pulliam was born on April 1, 1927, in Muscatine, the daughter of Bill and Helen Thuman Smith. She married Earl 'Nick' Pulliam Sr. on April 5, 1952, in Kirksville, Missouri.
She was a member of the Geneva Golf and County Club, Moose Lodge, Ambassador Club, the Muscatine Community Y; and she volunteered for the Hospital Auxiliary. She was a former Muscatine Ladies City Golf Champion. She first worked as a waitress at the Park Lane Golf Course. She later worked at Batterson's Department Store and Ral-Mar Clothing Store.
Survivors include her husband, Earl 'Nick' Pulliam of Muscatine; a son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Carol Pulliam, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Carol's parents, Bill and Sonja Askren of Milford, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald; and one sister, Louise.
