Charles S. Pulver b. 1844 in New York...living in Fremont, Winneshiek, Iowa 1860 Census - need help figuring out where he went!

I am very confused with this family and I hope someone can help me to figure out some of the conflicting data.

From records on the Winneshiek County, Iowa GenWeb site, it appears that Charles S. Pulver married Fannie P. McHenry (aka Frances P. McHenry). Fannie is the daughter of Wilson and Margaret McHenry and was born in 1844 in New York. I am trying to identify Fannie's grandparents and am now stuck on her marriage to Charles and maybe to someone else. The marriage records indicate she married Charles Pulver in 1866. However, these same records seem to indicate she married a man by the name of Charles Mager (Mager may be McGee according to the www.familysearch.org website). The confusing thing about this is that the records show that the marriage to Charles #2 (Mager or McGee) also took place in 1866. The records show that Charles #1 (Pulver) was married to Mary McDowell in 1861...but maybe also in 1866...I am REALLY confused.

To top it all off, I can NOT locate any of these people after the 1860 census!! Frances McHenry is found in the 1860 Census living in Decorah, Winneshiek County, Iowa. Charles Pulver (#1) is found in the 1860 census living in Fremont, Winneshiek County, Iowa with his parents and his 7 brothers and sisters. I have never found a Charles Mager or McGee in any census record! As I mentioned earlier...www.familysearch.org shows the marriage between Frances and Charles McGee on 14 Aug 1866 in Winneshiek County, Iowa...but there is no other information provided.

I am STUCK!! I wonder if Charles Pulver died and Frances then married Charles Mager (or McGee)...but then what happened to them in 1870??? Did they all die??? I found Frances' parents in Decorah, Winneshiek County, Iowa through the 1880 census...but they both died in this area by 1892. I just don't know where to turn now.

I would appreciate any help regarding this family. If anyone has any information on this particular Pulver line, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thank you very much.

Hi I am not actually related to your Pulvers from Wagga. My dad came to Wagga as a young married man and saw a sign as he came into the main street which said Pulver's boot repairs. he made contact but found no relation of course there probably was many generations ago. My lot came fron the UK in 1853, from Northamptonshire. They had lived ther since the 1500s. Claud pulver, now dead, donated a set of decanters in a silver stand to the wagga council years ago which is on display in the council building. I also have a photo of the pulvers gathering hay in the early days of Wagga . not my family probably yours. I got this from the State library of NSW photo data base online. Please keep in touch with me ask any questions you like I may be able to help you i have done masses of research some of which may help you. my e-mail address is judithbuik@optusnet.com.au

I have naturalisation papers - just cant find when Rudolph arrived in Australia.

I have tried to make contact withPulver rellies in Wagga but not having much luck on that side of things. I would be interested to know how far you have come with your search and from which Pulver you are decended from.

Cheers Petra
I am a Pulver from Wagga Wagga . Not of your family who came directly from poland. If you look up www.bdm.nsw.gov.au this web site you will find all the relevant dates for your family in wagga. Also if you go to this site www.nla.gov.au the national library of australia you should be able to find the naturalisation papers for rudolph/rodolph and other items. also look up all the passenger lists for incoming immigrants to australia these should help you. Use terms like passengers to Australia shoulcover all you needs. I am happy to do any searching for you if you whish.. Your Pulver family were a family of distinction in Wagga. There are still family recils in the hands of the Wagga council. Look up the white pages for present wagga pulver residents there are still some Cheers Judy Buik nee Pulver

Charles Calvin Pulver born 1858 in NY

Recentaly confirmed the father of Charles Calvin Pulver is John Henry Pulver who lived in Palmyra, NY in the late 1800's-early 1900's. His wife was Susan Ellen (White) Pulver and she is buried in Palmyra Village Cemetery, having died in 1889. Susan's parents are shown as Farnham and Susan White on the tombstone, and her spouse is just shown as "Henry" (not John Henry Pulver). Does anyone have further information on these ancestors of mine?

Have hit the wall in my search for the parents or siblings of Charles C. Pulver, my Great-grandfather. On early census records, he states his birth was in 1858 in the state of New York. He was a traveling salesman and later moved to Wisconsin, where he married Allison S. Tomlinson. His children were Bruce and Ruth Pulver. I have located two Pulver families in NY with sons born in 1858. I have no idea which one, if either, is the correct family. Does anyone have a clue or an early record that will give proof positive? Family story says that Charles' Father may have lived in Elmira, NY at some point.

I found a Petrus Pulver with a son named John and William and this could be his parents but I am not sure.

I need information on Petrus Pulver and Anna Maria Deter (this could be the P. in John P. Pulver)

If I could get any information on this John P Pulver it would help.

Please email me at dennismk1@earthlink.net.

Thank you
Dennis Killmer
Fort Worth, TX
http://home.earthlink.net/~dennismk1
Parents of Orminta Matilda Pulver

Orminta Matilda Pulver was born in January 23, 1811, presumably in Pine Plains, Columbia County, New York. She married Hugh Van Slyck who was my Great-great Grandfather of Kinderhook, New York. She died October 7, 1896 in Kinderhook and is buried in the Old Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery in Kinderhook. My great grandfather was born in Pine Plains which was the home of his mother's famnily. Nicholas and Polly Sutherland (Parks) Pulver were residents of Pine Plains. There were also other Pulvers residents of Pine Plains. Does anyone have information as to the parents of Orminta Matilda Pulver of Pine Plains, New York?

PULVER, Alferd (Alfred)

Hello, I am looking for information on a New Yorker named Alferd Pulver b abt 1827 or 1828. He later married Eliza, maiden name unknown. Children were Matilda 1852, Melinda 1852, John E 1857 and Clinton 1859. The census also mention an Addie E Pulver 1865 and Cornelius Pulver 1789. Although I am not sure if the last 2 are immediate Family! I understand that this line eventually goes back to Johann Wendell Pulver Born in 1670, Palantine, Germany married to Anna Catherine Busch. I am trying to connect them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for descendents of Samuel Pulvers, who was born in England on 19 Dec 1883 and died in Los Angeles on 09 Dec 1961. He had a brother named Isaac Harry, known as Harry, and a sister named Elsie. His mother's maiden name was Kramer. British Ancestors can find no record of the births in England, but that is what both Harry and Sam claimed. I am wondering if they may have been known by another name, as immigration has no record either. Harry was in the USA before 1919 and Sam at least by 1930.

The record I have shows her father was Sherman Morey and her mother Phoebe Pulver married in 1849. My GG Grandmother married Harvey Abrames. She died in 1886 in Troy, NY. Our names are pretty close. Let me know if you think we have a connection.

Egbert Pulver (1823-1898) and Parthena Edmunds (1839-1863) were married on March 17, 1858. They were both born in New York and moved to Illinois before or shortly after their wedding as all the kids were born in Illinois.

I am looking for information about their ancestors and where they came from. Egberts parents were Wandle Pulver (born 1793 in NY) and Nellie McCarthy (born 1794 in NY). Egbert and Parthena's children were Charles Andrew (1863-1951), Cyntha (born abt 1862), and Harmon (born abt 1860).

I am looking for more info about this family and to connect with anyone else who may also be researching them.

dewitz_jed@yahoo.com

A Marguerite Pulver, b. 1895 in Switzerland, came to America with my grandparents, Francois and Rosa Begre Monnier, in 1909 to help my grandmother with her baby and stayed here. She was a relative, I believe a niece, the daughter of one of my grandmother's sisters, Anna, Ida, Sofia, or Bertha. My grandmother was born in Ligertz, Bern, Switzerland. Her parents were Rosina Martin and Abraham Begre. Do we have a connection?
