PUPPEL (WELCH) Martha Jane Puppel, born February 20, 1915, at Ashely, OH died peacefully at home Tuesday, April 25, 2006. Preceded in death by loving husband of 61 years Allen D. Puppel, M.D., who felt that he could not have found a better partner with the will and fortitude to play such a supportive role with his medical practice, while managing a nice home for his family. Survived by sister, Anne Haubiel of Findlay, OH; sons, Dennis and his wife Barbara, David and his friend Janis Bell, Richard and his wife Becky Hazelbaker; grandchildren, Darin Puppel and Debbie Puppel; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She graduated from Ashley High School in 1933 and The Ohio State University College of Agriculture in 1940 with a BS in Home Economics. Martha was a homemaker with special interest in gardening, history, and her community. She was a longtime member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church and The Clintonville Womens Club including the club's bowling league from 1962 to 1999. Martha also volunteered in the admissions office at Grant Hospital for many years. She was loving, generous and appreciative with family, friends, and neighbors. Martha was an Irish rose. Private interment. No calling hours. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to the charity of their choice.
