I was inquiring about the Purman family also.

Ollie M., m. a Hardy Miller,1890. I have a Rosa Tharp, who m. Hardy Miller, May 21, 1898.
This Hardy was b. 1869, IL. to Ben Miller and Drusilla Dunn.
I wonder if it is the same Hardy?
Do you know what happened to Ollie?

Purman , Drake in Fulton/McDonough County IL

Hi,

I'm looking for the family of John H. Purman who was born in and around 1841 in Illinois. John first married Mary Sheets in McDonough County on 10/18/1860. He was enlisted as a union soldier and was mustered in there in McDonough county. I don't know if he and Mary had any children before the war.

I do not know what happened to Mary. John married Lydia J Drake (born in PA) in 1869. They had three children listed on the 1880 Canton, Fulton County IL Census as Ollie M. Purman <1872>, Mary A. Purman <1874>, and John H.(A.)Purman.

I have some other information but need to know if anyone knows who John's parents or brothers and sisters may be.

Also if anybody knows what happened to Mary Sheets, I'd appreciate the information.

I am researching my mother's family. Her mother was a Purman (Ruth M.) Her grandparents were Samuel Carrie. Samuel had a brother, Andrew, and I believe an uncle named Andrew A., son of John Barbara Purman. I suspect we have the same line, and would appreciate knowing how to obtain a copy of the history to which you refer. Also, I would love to share whatever information I have. I look forward to hearing from you.
