Surnames: Purple, Popple
This is a stretch to try to connect but understanding how family names change and evolve over several generations I thought it was worth asking... A Sarah Peaple/Purple, dau. of Richard & Hannah, m. Samuel Starkweather of Stonington, CT in 1744 @ East Haddam. Stonington is the right area for John Popple who m. Dorcas ___ on the CT/RI border about the same time. The Popples had several children.
