Genevieve Lovina Barber Purple Obit
Genevieve Lovina Barber Purple, 80, of Murfreesboro died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the John R. Rice Auditorium at the Bill Rice Ranch with Dr. Bill Rice III officiating. Burial will be at Bill Rice Ranch Memorial Park.
A native of Bernardston, Mass., Mrs. Purple was the daughter of the late Myron and Julia Pratt Barber. While living in Greenfield, Mass, she was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She had lived in Murfreesboro for the past 28 years. She was a member of the Franklin Road Baptist Church and the Bellwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Carl R. Purple; sons Thomas Clayton Purple of Wyndmoor, Pa., and Jonathan Mark Purple of Cedarville, Ohio; daughters Melanie Elaine Harding of Brightwood, Va., and Carla Candace Blaisdale of Melbourne, Fla.; seven brothers; one sister; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bill Rice Ranch, Murfreesboro, TN 37128.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at the John R. Rice Auditorium.
