My great-great grandfather, Edwin H. Pursell (other spellings: Pursel, Purcell) was born 25 Oct 1800 in the town of Purcellville, Loudoun county, Virginia. He married Rachel Paxson (born 26 Nov 1807, in the town of Waterford, Loudoun county, Virginia) in Frederick, Maryland on 01 Sept 1834. After their marriage, they resided first in Virginia and then in Adams county, Ohio, in the Bratton Township area. Their children were: William Randolph, Burr Paxson, Margaret Jane (my great-grandmother), Thomas Heaton, Mahlon and Enos Tobias. The 'Methodist Cemetery' in Louden, Adams county, Ohio, is listed as the place of burial for most of them. Margaret Jane Pursel married Samuel R. Parsons abt 1860. After their marriage, they resided in Marshall County, Illinois. Margaret Jane Pursel Parsons died in the town of Peebles, Adams county, Ohio, on 05 April 1933.
