I recently saved a log cabin, the home of William Puterbaugh circa 1831. I had it moved to Pickering Village museum. It has ben completely restored and will be opening as a student resource center in April. The family emigrated to Canada in 1817. The family is the direct descendants of of the two brothers that left germany for Rotterdam and then the US.I have alot of Canadian info on William and his father John. John was married to Catherine Van Buskirk. They are both buried in a pioneer cemetary in Vaughn just outside of Toronto. We cannot find the name of Williams wife, there is reason to believe she may have been native or ofmixed blood. Does any one have any info? I would like to complete the entire family tree US and Canada for the Museum. I would be happy to share my information and contacts. There is a book that was done for the Canadian centenial, a copy can be found in the Richmond Hill Library, just outside of Toronto Ontario, Canada. My grandmother was Edith Puterbaugh
