One added note:

In Johannes Pootman's apprenticeship in September of 1661 in Albany, [New York], it said, "Johannes Potman jong gesel out jegenwordich omtrent sestien jaaren". I translate this as "Johannes Pootman young whip [man] old towards literally about sixteen years". So, Johannes was "about 16" not exactly 16.

Victor Pootman's son Jan [probably Johannes "Jan" Pootman of Schenectady] was 17 1/2 years old in September of 1661 or born February 28, 1644 and not born in 1645 as most have supposed.
