Hi there. The Capes line of my tree, (my father's), goes as far back as one Ellen Pycock b. 15th April 1748 d. 26th Jan 1830.

She was born at Stockwith Nr. Gainsbro and died in Walworth London.

She married Richard Capes at Holy Trinity Church Hull, Yorkshire on 9th Oct 1772. They had seven children one of whom was John, my GG Grandfather.

I have no record of any of her relatives and would love to find anything at all. Regards, and here's hoping, Harriet Capes.

well im mason pycock and the pycock family is indeed neer doncater were most of are family is in shefield,winterton,scunthorpe,barow,shefield,rotheram and moltby my granddad used to run a cafe called the crosed keys

please tell me if you have heard of these's places

I've just stumbled on to you on Ancestry.com. I think you wrote to Sue Blakeley of Dewsbury yorks. re Pycocks. I located her about a year ago. She is descended from one of william Pycock's sons, Henry, who emigrated to the States circa 1905, I'm descended from another of William's sons called Alfred. My PYCOCK/DALE line married into the Nottinghamshire GUNBY family that emigrated to Ontario in 1833. Many GUNBY descendents there, some PYCOCK. Be glad to send you a GEDCOM if you have family tree, or I can send you Word docs.
I used to live in Suffolk 1999-2001,(and Germany too) did alot of research at Essex, Lincoln, Nottingham, and at the Kew Archives. I've been a researcher for over 28 years, mostly U.S., Canadian and Irish records.

Hi Lyz, I just went back to the message boards and realised your query was in reply to a reply I sent to an Ian last year. Seems my original post, which requested info on Pycock's in America still hasn't had any replies. Still pleased to make contact with any Pycock descendants so please get back in touch.

Hi Lyz, yes we do connect! I am descended from the Robert and William Pycock you mentioned. One of William's sons, Henry, b 1840 is my great great grandfather. I live around 13 miles from Leeds where the Pycocks settled in the early 1800's. I have some info from the Belton Parish records going back to the 1500's too.I am also in contact with two second cousins, Wendy in Yorkshire and Wayne in America. I would love to hear where you fit into the family tree. It was great to finally get a reply to my post!It must have been there over two years now!

I am related to PYCOCK and DALE families of Belton, Isle of Axholme. My Robert Pycock left Belton for Leeds area around 1800 and his son William 1804-1861 at Hunslet YKS. Have copied Belton parish and BT records on both these families back to 1500s. Let me know if we connect.

Hi Ian, I have been researching the Pycock name for around two and a half years. Many of my ancestors were from Leeds in the 1800's but it seems they originated from the Isle of Axholme in Lincolnshire before then. Should you have any that seem to trace back to these areas I will be happy to swap info.
