I have planned a trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas in March 2007 to research my grandmother's family--John Thomas Williams & Elizabeth "Lizzie" Cabe. Her parents were Thomas Jefferson Cabe & Margaret Pyeatt. Both Williams & Cabes lived in the areas of Cane Hill & Fayetteville. TJ Cabe was an elderly soldier who entered the War Between the States, despite being told that he was "too old." Williams father was John Siddell Williams. His spouse was Charity Davis. It is my understanding that there is considerable documentation of the 1860--1890 period in histories of early settlers of NW Arkansas & in histories of the Civil War & later era. And, that my relatives are included. Where do I start & what is a good central location to stay for a week? Who do I need to meet for assistance? Please help!
