Here's what I have on Joseph B and Sarah Pyland:

-Joseph Bennett Pyland Jr b 10 Oct 1848 in Marshall Co, TN and died 1 Mar 1939 in Los Angeles, CA. He was the son of Joseph B Pyland 1804-1883 and Elizabeth Pyland 1812-1892.

Joseph Jr married Sarah Ann Phillips b 12 Jan 1853 in IL and died 19 Jul 1929 in Mendocino, CA. They were married on 3 Oct 1870 in Dade Co, MO. Their children were:
- Bertha L. Pyland b abt 1870. She married George Washington O'Neal b 1867. Child of Bertha and George was William Joseph O'Neal 1893-1918.
-Maggie A Pyland b abt 1874 in MO
-Alta S Pyland b abt 1874 in MO
-Lula B "Luley" Pyland b abt 1877 in MO
-Theresa E "Freda" Pyland b 1879 in MO. She married unknown CLARK. children of Theresa and Mr Clark are Bert and Bertha Clark.
- Dolly C Pyland b 11 Oct 1884 in KS and died 17 Oct 1997 in Los Angeles. She married a PARKS b in CA. children were Glenn H Parks and Joe H Parks.
- Rose A Pyland b 1886 in KS
-Nellie E Pyland b 1888 in KS

Pyland in BURROW CEMETERY/Monette, AR

I wanted to post this, and I'll leave you all with it!
I have found some Pylands in the Burrow Cemetery outside of Monette, Arkansas... I do not know the county, but it's in BETWEEN Lake City, & Monette. I found SEVERAL "PYLAND"'S and took pictures. Only 2 of the pictures I took of the Pyland graves came out:

The cemetery has been SADLY forgotten, and most graves were put there between 1840 - 1940. I can't remember the earliest graves for ANY of the surnames, but the latest ones I beleive were 1943 (not Pyland). I just thought I'd let some of you know, as I REALLY beleive they are some of your family members.
Other surnames include: BURROW, BEAKLEY, CAMERON/CAMBRON, THURMAN, RAY, RITCHIE/RICHIE, FRAZIER, OWEN, DAVIDSON, STRICTLAND/STRICLIN, COBB, PETIGREW
There may be more surnames, but as most of my pictures didn't turn out, I don't remember them all, and many of them were unrecognizable beyond repair!!

I am looking for information on the brothers and sister of Nancy Pyland who married Bush Defnall in Jefferson Co. Ga. in 1810. She had 2 brothers, Robert and James. One sister named Mary. That is all I know about them. If you have any information about them I sure would appreciate it.

I am researching James Pyland who moved to Jefferson Co. Ga sometime in the early 18th century. He witnessed a will of my ancestor Henry Fountain in 1823. He married Henry's widow Lydia Fountain in 1825. Any information on James and Lydia or any other Pylands who may have been in this area would be appreciated. Henry Fountain, William R. Fountain and Mary Fountain(Brothers and sister). were likely minors and lived in James Pyland's household.

Hi Linda, Thanks for getting back to me. I am afraid I wont be much help because all I know is that my father Alvin melburn Pyland was born in Owensburro Ky 1917. He had 11 brothers and sisters. All of which are living in Clarksville Tenn. Most of them are in their 80's now, but you may be able to get phone listing's and talk to them if you would like to gain anymore imformation. As for my father he passed away in 1977. I haven't talked to any of my aunt's or uncles for over 45 years, so they would not even know me. sorry I could not be of more help. Thanks again Vicki

Stephen Albert (Ab) Pyland ...Arkansas

I am looking for information on this family. Stephen Albert was born Feb. 11, 1877 to William Franklin and Mary Pankey Pyland. William franklin was born 1-11-1857 and died 12-24-1902. He is buried at Cane Island Cemetery in Lake City AR. This is all the info I can come up with. If anybody has info on William's family, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

GEORGE MOORE'S DAU IN ISLE OF WIGHT VA 1690 OR THERE BOUT AND HAD SEVERAL CHILDREN. POOR THOMAS DIED EARLY BUT THE PILAND/PYLAND WENT ON. G. MOORE HAD FOUR DAU AND NO SONS BUT HE HAD A BROTHR THOMAS AND VERY POSSIBLE A SECOND BROTHER JOHN. THE PILAND/PYLANDS STILL LIVE AROUND SUFFOLK/FRANKLIN VA.THERE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN ANOTHER PYLAND FAMILY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE JAMES RIVER BUT IT MAY BE THE SAME FAMILY. THEY MADE A SPLASH IN WILLIAMSBURG ABOUT THE TIME OF BACON'S REBELLION AND WERE UNSEATED IN THE HOUSE BUT I THINK THEY GOT REELECTED AT ANY RATE THEY WERE OF SOME IMPORTANCE.

I am seeking more information on Jane Pyland (sister of Robert Pyland) and her husband ___ Gurganey (see below). It is my belief that this might be Edward Gurganey Jr, b abt 1590 in England, d 1648 Henrico Co VA, as this is the only Gurganey known to me in the U.S. at this time. So any more information on who he might be would be most appreciated.
