Thomas Pyott, well known to many friends in Newport, died, after an illness of about two months, at his home at 437 Thames Street, Saturday. Coming from Stockport, Cheshire, England, about 47 years ago, the deceased followed his vocation as a painter, working first with John A. Allan, and then for many years being in business for himself. He is survived by a widow, Minnie Rose Pyott; a son, Edwin R. Pyott, and a daughter, Mrs. Ann Meredith.
A member of Trinity Church, Mr. Pyott maintained his interest in the affairs of this parish and was also much interested in Roger Williams Lodge. Sons of St. George, of which he was an honorary member and in Redwood Lodge, Knights of Pythias, of which he was at one time chancellor commander. Although not in the best of health for some time, it was only recently that the deceased's illnesss became severe, and he failed rapidly.
