In 1790 William, and John (William's son?) are heads-of-household in Mecklenburg Co NC census. [Seeking wife of William.]
CHARLES2 PIRANT (sic) (b c 1774), married with a young family, was in 1800 Mecklenburg Co NC census; in 1810 Surry Co NC with his wife & children; in 1820 Buncombe Co NC with his family and sixteen (16) slaves; in 1830 Williamson Co TN. [Seeking wife of Charles. Is she a NEWTON? A daughter of Benjamin Newton?]
MARTHA3 PYRON (b c 1805-1810 Mecklenburg or Surry Co NC/d c 1841) married THOMAS JEFFERSON CANDLER (b c 1804-5 Buncombe Co NC/d c 1841)[He is the eldest child of Zachariah Moorman Candler & Mary "Polly" Boone.]
CHARLES4 NEWTON PYRON CANDLER (b 1825 Buncombe Co NC)
ZACHARIAH4 MARION CANDLER (b 1827 Buncombe Co NC)
JAMES4 MADISON CANDLER (b 1829 Buncombe Co NC)
ELIZA4 JANE CANDLER (b 1831 Buncombe Co NC)
GEORGE4 WASHINGTON CANDLER (b 1834 Buncombe Co NC)
THOMAS4 JEFFERSON CANDLER (b 1838 TN).

Are any readers familiar with this PYRON line?
Any information would be helpful.
Thank you.
Pyrant/Pyron Question October 30, 2007

Re: Pyron Posted on: 24 Jul 2002, by teresamandrel...
Surnames > Crowell
...my grand father was RUDY PYRON, his father was CHARLES MADISON PYRON his father was CHARLES MILTON PYRON his father was JACKSON HUDSPETH PYRON his father was WILLIAM PYRON his father was JOHN PYRON his father was JAMES PYRON his father

On the message boards at
http://boards.rootsweb.com/SearchResults.aspx?db=mb&gss=...=

There are a number of posts about the spelling Pyrant or Pyron.

The Pyron line from CHARLES MILTON PYRON to JACKSON HUDSPETH PYRON to WILLIAM PYRON to JOHN PYRON to JAMES PYRON sounds like the line that Colonel Charles L. Pyron belonged to.

I have wondered if there is any good source saying that John Pyron born sometime about 1760 was the son of a James Pyron and that William Pyron (1757 to 1850) who lived in Mecklinburg county, N.C. was John's brother or cousin.

I have seen posts saying a James Pyron was the faher of my William Pyron, but they supplied no sources to prove that.

If you are a descendant of the Charles Milton Pyron, nephew of Colonel Charles L. Pyron, and this is the Charles Milton Pyron who moved rom Alabama to NE Texas then your Pyron ancestors came from around Mt Pleasant, Texas.

My grandfather A.M. Pyron (1846 to 1932) went to Texas in 1867 from Arkansas and I grew up on what was left of his land in South Bexar county, SW of San Antonio. His great-grandfather was William Pyron (1757-1850). I have a copy of a letter written in the early 20th century to him from his uncle John Calvin Pyron saying that William Pyron had two brothers, John and Charles, and that John went to Alabama.
I had a post from a Pyron in Alabama who claims William and John were first cousins.

Apparently Pyrant and Pyron were the same family. William Pyron (1757-1850) on Mecklinburg county, N.C. land records sometimes spelled his name Piron and sometimes Pyron.

I have not heard of Rudy or Charles Madison Pyron, who may be son and grandson of the Charles Milton Pyron who was in the Confederate army and moved to NE Texas from Alabama.

About 20 years ago I did a search for Pyrons who were in the Confederate army. I just found a page on Alabama Pyrons who were Confederates.

This page says William Pyron born September 17, 1789 was a son of John and Delphia Pyron. The wife of William Pyron was Sarah. the Alphia harris Bible records show that one of the sons of William and Sarah had a son named Jackson H. Pyron, born Feb 25, 1815.

The Marion county, Alabama census for 1850 shows that Jackson H. Pyron had a son names Charles M. Pyron. Bible records of Effie Pyron Mat of Fairfield, Alabama say that Charles M. Pyron was born October 11, 1836. Confederate pension records of Texas show C.M. Pyronb, age 77 in 1913, born in Alabama, served in the Confederate army.

Charles M. Pyron, possibly Charles Milton Pyron, was in the 42nd Alabama Infantry, Company K, and was a great-grandson of John Pyron, born 1789. Bible recods show Charles M. Pyron wrote a letter to his son James Watson Pyron at Mt. Vernon, Texas in 1907.

Confederate pension records show Charles M. Pyron at Mt. Vernon in Franklin county, Texas.

I think Charles M. Pyron was the nephew of Colonel Charles L. Pyron who commanded the 2nd Texas cavalry and who lived on a ranch SE San Antonio, which is now in the city limits.
Its not too far from where I grew up.

Bernard Pyron bernardpyron@gmail.com
Sent this to your wrong address. Richard Pyrant married Janning Allison 7 March 1814 in Madison Al, Ms territory. My Frances Pyrant married 7 April 1814 in Madison co. On the 1800 census in ancestry com are John, Joshua and Mary Pyrant all in Hillsboro in Caswell co, N.C. There was a Pyrant who served in Revolutionary War. Perhaps Daughters of American Revolution records could help on this matter as they had to name all of children and who they married. perhaps at a later date I could find this mans records and military service through National archives an perhaps he filed a pension application. If William was person who served in Revolution and we get list of his children, great. I just need encouragement on this as I am working with several other lines.
----- Original Message -----
From: Rubie Harris
To: bcchrisdebb@msn.com
Sent: Wednesday, July 18, 2007 10:47 PM
Subject: Pyrant genealogy

Hi.... Glad to find out others interested in Pyrant lineage at this time. I am descended from Pyrant family in Alabama, Mississippi territory 1810. This is Madison co, Al where Huntsville is located. William and Richard Pyrant there on 1810 census. I descend from Frances Pyrant who married there in 1814 Reuben Rogers. They moved later to Lowndes co, Ms then to Smith co, Ms where they are there until 18 41. Richard Pyrant married there in 1814 Allison. You can look these marriage exact dates at LDS site. I am interested if this William was father or whatever. You will find Richard and William on the census. I only find Pyrant name in Caswell co, N.C. Pittsylvania co, Va just across state line. Can you put this on line for me? I am not so into computers as much as I need to be.

Ms. Rubie Harris gr gr granddaughter of Frances Pyrant and Reuben Rogers.
I don't have a connection with John Pyron or John Pyron Sr. or his father William but am trying to find one if it exists.
Charles Pyrant of Pittsilvania Co, VA is the last census(1850) I have for direct family.
Bew well
Chris Barnes @
BChrisdebb@msn.com
P.S.
Ok. Anything that I could get would be nice but specifically, my husband is descended from Nathaniel P. Pyron through his daughter (Sarah, Susan Van Dorn Van Dora) marriage to John Jackson Crockett. I am just beginning my research into Sonny's family so my knowledge is limited. I found Nathaniel, a widower, in 1900. I understand his first marriage was to a Missouri Rushing and I am assuming that his children are from that marriage. The Crocketts were in Lampassas, Texas. I found a cemetary where M.R. Pyron is buried (1899)and it states that she was N.P. Pyrons wife. This is just about as far as I've gotten with either family. Any help would be appreciated.
Shelly: I am researching this line--just started. Do you have a list of their children. I understand that Nataniel remarried. My husband ties in with their daughter's marriage to John Jackson Crockett of Lampassas. We have the name as Sarah Van Dora Pyron but I have seen it as just plain Dora. Do you have any information and would you be willing to share. Thank you, Judi

The names that I have are Sarah Van Dora, and Dora Pyron. Does anyone have any information on this family? Any assistance would be appreciated. Judi

I am looking for a possble conection to "choctaw" blood as well. My mother always said we had choctaw on her dad's side. Her father was John Thomas Pyron(2) b.18 Aug 1928(Unicoi, TN) His Father was also John Thomas Pyron(1) b.abt 1887 *m* Emeline (Emmaline) Campbell b.26 Jan 1903 (Limestone Cove, TN) My Mother's baby book lists John(1) as being 'from' Mississipi. We are not sure if he was born there or if that is where his family was from. Anyone have info on either of these Johns?
Nicole

Thanks for the additional info. Shirley could possibly be another wife of his. The last time he was married to my grandmother was sometime in the late 70s early 80s. I remember visiting them in TN when I was very young. Grandma was living with us in 76 and then again in 80-81. She lived alone near us in the houston area after that. I do know that he was alive as of my grandmother's death in 94, he made a surprise appearance at her funeral.
C. Nicole Fisher

Newbie error, I didn't save the info, or where it was located. It listed him as single w/ dependents.
Mother Emeline M. ?Campbell?(her mother is listed as Campbell, no first name in my mom's baby book family tree) b. Abt 1902 Limestone Cove, TN
All three are listed on the 1930 census living in Unicoi, TN
(waiting on my ancestry.com subscription for Christmas to view :))
I was told that almost all my male ancestors were 'military men'
not sure if any of this info clarifies the pyrons I'm looking for.
C.
Cassiopeia,
I got the info you sent, thank you. But I'm not seeing the conection. The John's I'm looking for both have the middle name Thomas. The first one was born abt.1887, and was living in Unicoi, TN by the 1930 census. I will keep the info, maybe when I get further back in my research something will click. Thanks
Nicole

need a second opinion

in this census it has a Pyron family listed as Byron, the child listed as JS is what I need another opinion on. Does this look like JT to anyone else? It looks more like the other Ts on this page than the Ss to me.

Year: 1910; Census Place: Justice Precinct 3, Van Zandt, Texas; Roll: T624_1596; Page: 2A; Enumeration District: 111; Image: 805.

Nicole

another update of info

John Thomas Pyron(Jr) b.18Aug1928d.16Aug2002 Unicoi, TN John Thomas Pyron(Sr) b.20Oct1886 Clarksdale, MS d.03Apr1940 Wash DC m Emeline Campbell 26Jan1903- 01Jun1983
John Sr's draft card lists him living in Wills Point, Van Zandt Co, Texas dated 17Jun1917
There is a Pyron family (of course another John) listed 1900census in Van Zandt with a "Tom" listed that would be the right age. Just wondering if anyone knows this line?
Nicole
I got confirmation of siblings of John Thomas Pyron (Sr), this is a Pyron family. The child listed as JS, is JT. This is the same Pyron family listed in the 1900 census for Van Zandt, TX. Father's name is John M Pyron. His marriage to Melissa WARTENBE-WAGES-PYRON can be confirmed at http://www.rootsweb.com/~txvanzan/grooms207.htm
This would have been John M's second marriage (at least)
Nicole
