Hey there,

Did a little searching for you and found a Mary Anne Queale born in Ireland in 1850, married a John Thomas Fludgate in 1868 in Dublin. She died in 1932. You already had alot of this information. Was there anything else specific that you wanted to know? Write back when you can.

Sincerely,
Steve Solar (grandma was a Queal, not Queale, but still happy to help. :))

Hi there since Ive started research on the Quaile's from Derrintober,Drumshambo Ireland with Robert Quaile Marrying Catherine Crawford in 1844 I have Burden's,Bleakley's Moore's who are connected with this part of the family. There is a possible McMillian connection but no evidence so far, as they may have emigrated this would have been Charlotte Queale/Quaile
I still do not know for sure where the first Robert came from, only that he had two brothers one William emigrated the other George Tweedie went to New Zealand(have found his family or they found me)There is also a story that the first Robert taught Lord Beresfords son.Any thuoghts or ideas welcome
Heather nee Quaile

I am inquiring of your study of the QUEALEs of Ballinamore.

I have been researching the TELFORDs of County Cavan who
emigrated to Pontiac, PQ in the 1840s. James TELFORD and
wife Susan [QUAIL/ QUEALE] came to Clarendon abt 1844.
Susan's headstone at Shawville Village Cemetery says she
died in 1870 at age 66. Eight children were born in Ireland.

Their youngest dtr Susannah [ 1846-1923] married William
s/o Matthew WALLACE and Frances QUEALE. ( a sister or
cousin of Susan? ]

Other QUEALE connections indicate that the family may have
originated in Ballinamore. Could Susan be a sister of your
Thomas and dtr of William? Do you know if she was married
and her children baptized in Ballinamore?

Will appreciate your comments.

Just recently discovered that the true and correct name of my great-grandmother was Mary Anne Queale. I had been searching for her as Quaile. She married my great-grandfather, John Fludgate, Dublin man but a soldier in the British Army, sometime in the late 1860s, probably 1867/8. The lived in barracks in Dover Castle, England, and later in Dublin. Appreciate any and all interest. Long-lost cousins especially welcome.

Me again. Still looking for clues to the origins of my Great Grandmother Mary Anne Queale. She married my GGF John Thomas Fludgate some time in the 1860s, probably in Dublin. JT was a Royal Artillery soldier from London posted as a gunner to Dublin Castle. Family legend says Mary Anne and her family came to Dublin in the aftermath of the Great Famine. She had a sister, Margaret Queale. Margaret was a midwife who delivered Mary Anne's first child, my great uncle Charles Fludgate, born Dublin in 1869. Appreciate any clues. And a warm welcome given to all cousins, distant or otherwise.

Hi Trevor...you actually have quite a few relatives in Australia and a few more in New Zealand. From what I know so far, you should be a decendant of James Queale and Susan Carthy from Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim, Ireland. My ancestors lived a few miles east of yours near Ballinamore. Having the same Queale spelling and the close proximity indicates a family connection, although making that connection can be a challenge. My great-grandfather and a number of his siblings came here to Canada around 1859.

Do you know the names of your grandfather and great-grandfather? Can't find you in the geneology chart I have.

Look forward to hearing from you.
Karen

Hi Bernard...do you know where in Ireland Mary Anne Queale was born? Do you know about any other members of her family? Having the name spelled QUEALE so far seems to indicate a connection of some sort. Make the connections in the early generations is quite a challenge however. First names were also frequently repeated throughout connected family groups. Mary Anne is not one used in my family, but....

My ancestors came from Co Leitrim, most of them coming here to Canada around 1859. Do you and your relatives still live in Ireland?

Karen
