My husband's family in the U.S. began with his great grandfather, James Quinlisk (c. 1825-1899), who came to this country about 1849 and was married to Margaret Tracy. His info in church records, say that he was born in Templemore, Tipperary Ireland. Family history says that he had family (brothers ???) in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and possibly several other states. I have no real connection but my husband's aunt Mary Quinlisk kept in contact with those in Ohio and Illinois--Have a picture of a priest, Wm. P. Quinlisk of Chicago (parents I do not know)) that was sent (before 1940) to Michael J. Quinlisk (great uncle of my husband) of Punxsutawney--believe the priest was a nephew of James. My husband grandfather James s/o James was married to Elizabeth "Bess" Dwyer also of Chicago. We are going to Ireland in October and would appreciate any info on the Quinlisk Family. If any of this sounds familiar, I would be glad to share what I have.
