My name is Sheena. I am 27-years-old, married, and am half-way through grad school, pursuing a doctorate of chiropractic. I was taken from my biological mother when only a few weeks old, placed in foster care around the same time, and was adopted by my foster family. I grew up healthy and beautiful. I am searching for my biological father, Carl Quinn, who would have been "involved" with my biological mother, Gloria Ann Baranowski, somewhere in Pittsburgh, PA around June of 1981. I don't need or want anything from him, as I am educated and successful, except to satisfy my curiosity concerning the other half of my genetics. Upon seeing my half sister, my birth mother, and one of her brothers and one of his sons, I have concluded I must have gotten my looks from him. Please help me solve this mystery!

What a pleasant surprise to hear from you!! No, I haven't had any luck tracking them back to Ireland; the farthest I can trace them is back to Rahway, NJ between 1852 -1856. Apparently Robert McCue, Unity's brother was married there to a Mary Murphy (I believe).
I would love to hear more information and see any pictures that you might have....you wouldn't happen to be on facebook would you? Might be able to post the photos there...I do have pictures of Peter Quinn, who was the son of Unity (my ggrandfather).
Love to hear more! you could write me directly to maryjpersons@hotmail.

In the 1930 census there is a Patricia Quinn 4years 1 month old living at 249 Straight St. Paterson NJ. She was living with her father John E.Quinn, her sister Claire F. and her grandparents Patrick J. and Catherine.

John was born in NY around 1891, The children - both in NJ, Claire around 1919, Patricia 1926, and the grandparents in Ireland. Patrick around 1866 and Catherine around 1864.

I will have to see if I can find a connection to my great granddad Martin who came to the USA around 1855 and to Paterson in 1860's. After much looking I cannot find his family when they first came to the US. And there are no Patricks in our Quinn Family.

Good luck!
Pat, formerly from Paterson too!
I am interested in connecting with someone from the DNA project, kit 91549 or N15024 (subgroup 5, I believe). My family does not indicate any Quinn background; however, the DNA matches quite closely that from this group and would perhaps explain why ours is so different from the DNA from our "Name". My family did live close to a Quinn family in York Co SC in the late 1700s.

Hello,
I'm looking for info on the family of a William Quinn and his wife, Mary Cain - both from South Carolina. They had a daughter named Mary b Nov 1865 in Florida. She married a John Littleton about 1898 and ended up in Ft Myers, Lee Co, Fl. Does anyone know anything about this family? This was John Littleton's 2nd marriage and I'm trying to locate where he might have met and married her. Their marriage isn't in Lee Co.

Thanks
Terry Littleton - admin/sponsor of LITTLETON@rootsweb.com

Re: Paterson, NJ Quinn

Hi!
Just read your post about Annie Quinn. I'm a Quinn from Paterson (of which there ore several groups).

What caught my eye was your reference to Alexander M. Quinn. An Alexander M. Quinn lived with my grandfather & his parents around 1886- 1890 at 260 Paterson Av in the Totowa section of Paterson (2nd Ward) according to the cenesus. My Dad found that information many years back, in looking through the census or city directories. He didn't know the connection with his grandfather's family (my g-grandfather). It might not be your Alexander Quinn
Since my g-grandfather, Martin Quinn, came to Paterson from NY to work in the mills, I THINK some of his brothers also came at some time (my Dad did not know of any).
Another coincidence is that my great aunt Annie Quinn (not your Annie) had a newspaper clipping and article about Robert M. Quinn (1/1/1890-6/22/1960) when he passed away. Robert was the son of Patrick & Agnes Klein Quinn and the brother of Margaret Quinn Braeckle of Boston Mass.
My Dad nor I did not know of any connection to Robert M. Quinn or why Annie kept the clipping ( she kept others of relatives and friends). So perhaps there is a connection!
Is takes hours to try to find out! I should have listered or asked questions when the older generation was alive!
qshipbottom@aol.com
Thank you for your response. However I do have all the information regarding his parents, thank you. I'm actually just trying to find out what became of him. He is my great grandfather.I know that he enlisted in the US army, but after that, that is all the info. that I can find. Prior to that he had my grandfather and his brother. Which because of divorce were seperated. If you are connected to my family, any info you might be willing to share to solve this would be greatly appreciated.

Wendy
My grandfather was Arthur James Quinn (born 1897), my great grandfather was James Daniel Quinn (born 1854), and my great great grandfather was John Luff (or Loff) Quinn. John was born in 1830 according to the family records and was married to Nancy Deaver(born 1832). My records are from family, especially my uncle, and througn the years, no one kept the family geneology, which made it hard to find any information about John. Since reading your message, I imagine my John's middle name was Loftin.

I have found one other son for John named John William Quinn, born 1863 in Duplin Co and died in 1937 in Wilson County NC.

I hope this is the info you were looking for and if this is your family and mine, maybe we can work together by exchanging information.

I am excited to learn more about this family!!!!

Reba
