Hello, I am researching information on my daughter's side of the family. Any one have information on a Carol J Quintero born around 1950's? Married a David W. Roberts and they had one son by the name of David W. Roberts in 1972 in Alameda County, CA.

I am trying to track down the line past Carol and think her father might have been Armando Quintero and mother Mary Jane Rathlef. It looks like they were from Nueces Texas. Does anyone have any further information?

I am searching for more information on Fernanda Quintero from "Spain" (as on their son's census info) who married James Alexander Hill in the 1830s. They had many children, including my gggrandfather, John W. Hill, who was sent to KY and later, to Missouri, where he enlisted in Springfield, Ray Co., Mo in the CSA. After the war he came to Texas (East Texas) and lived in several counties. His brothers had gone to West Texas and New Mexico. In about 1866 James re-entered Texas with his family and from there each branched out - the hill country, Bandero and El Paso Counties, and then to New Mexico where James A. Hill died. I do not know where his wife died.

Any info would be most helpful.
Do you know if Jose was related to a Rosie or Rosa Quintero of Puerto Rico (probably Rio Piedras)? Rosie married Oscar B. Starnes, Jr. (from Virginia) in the mid-1940s. They had a daughter Daller or Dallar, born in 1946±. From what I am told, Oscar left Rose and Daller in Puerto Rico and returned to the states. Oscar is dead and Rosie may also be dead, but Daller should still be living ... somewhere ! She is my cousin and I'm thinking she might want to know something about her Virginia-side Family History.
ANY HELP WOULD BE TREMENDOUSLY APPRECIATED !!
THANKS,
Carole

The name Quintero means 'the King's fifth'. The name is from Spain.

Perhaps the first Quintero's were tax collector's for the King of Spain. The system of taxation in Spain seems to have gone something like this: of everything a person owned, or produced, one-fifth was to be given to the King.

I'm told that the Spanish Archives have many references to Quinteros.

Hi
The following are the sons of Jesus Quintero Born in 1832,
Candelario (1861); Florentino (1866);Tomas (1868)who is my great grandfather);Jesus (1870(;Nemencio (1872)Trenida (1864) and daughters Juanita (1865) and Aneseta (1868). Jesus's wife was Aniseta Andrada born in 1840. Most of my information came from the 1880 U.S. Census and the Quintero family tree developed by Gloria Gomez. She also had a picture of Andres's wife Carmen Fernandez. All the Jesus family were from Preceint 2, Wilson County, TX. I assumed it was Graytown. They all moved to San Antonio sometime after the 1910 census.

Hope this will help your search. If I can be of further help please let me know. It does appear that we are from the same family.

Lupe Q. Muniz

Angel (Ingle) Peter Quintero was my grandfather. He was born 8/01/1892. His father was Angel Ruiz Quintero, born 8/02/1866 in Durango, Mexico. Angel Ruiz Quintero's wife was named Maria (not sure of last name), but her parents are listed on her death certificate as Reyes Durazo and Julianna Gonzalez. Maria was born 9/27/1867 and her birth place is also listed on her death certificate as Mexico, although not certain if that is correct. Angel Peter Quintero married Margaretta Abson and had three childre, Reta Edith, Alice Dorathy and Joseph Ingle. Joseph Ingle Quintro was my father. He died in San Diego County, California on 7/25,1991. Anyone researching this family please contact xcowgirltoo48@msn.com

Juan Quintero of San Antonio

I'm looking for more information on my grandmother's side of the family. Her husband Juan Quintero was born 24 June 1888 in Mexico, he died 29 July 1960 in San Antonio. I left the family at a very young age so I didn't heard many stories. I was told we originated in Spain? My mother Celia Quintero Flores, who I don't know much about was born to him and his first wife Hilaria Vargas Quintero. His 2nd wife was Manuela and they had three sons. I remember a Guadalupe, who my mother called aunt and her husband Pete Vargas. There was a Manuel Quintero who I believe was his brother; Manuel had a daughter Rose and Richard Quintero. Celia had a sister, same mother different father name Santos. Santos stayed with the mother, Celia went with her father never know why. Any farther information would be greatly appreciated.
