Reinhard (Sonny) R. Raasch, 74, died Thursday, May 31, 2007.
He was born March 9, 1933, to the late Reinhard and Esther (Ellingson) Raasch in Stetsonville, where he was raised.
He served his country in the United States Army.
Sonny had been employed as a cheesemaker for over 35 years. In his earlier years, he had been employed at Milan Foods and Rio Creek Coopp Cheese Company, later retiring as a mail truck driver for J & W Enterprises. Sonny was a member of Christ the King Evangelical Luthern Church and helped in the construction of the church. He enjoyed flying with the Rio Creek Aviators, was a member of the Green Bay West Lions Club and the Algoma Post #0236 of The American Legion.
Survivors include his three children, Todd Raasch, Marc Raasch and Jennifer (Dave) Sinkula, and the mother of his children, Diane Raasch, all of Green Bay; one sister, Carol (Howard) Grunewald and one brother, William (Joyce) Raasch, both of Stetsonville; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elvin and Melvin and one brother-in-law, Harry Reimer.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Monday at Christ The King Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1700 Cardinal Lane, where the funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Leonard Buelow officiating. Full military honors will follow. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Sonny's name.
