records of the rabatin tree from Crastne have been updated as of this posting. We made a trip to Slovakia, and the pictures are posted at www.andrew-rabatin.org. also marriage records of the rabatin family from Farrell, PA. This branch is Luthern, but in LDS records an early EVANGELICAL church was in Kal'ava. So the Catholic and Luthern branches may be related.

Andy
I have same story you refer about George Rabatin. He had five children, wife died, married a woman who had three children, together they had three more, but the name was not George, it was Jacob Rabatin. Same person or someone else with life situation. Jacob was from near Uniontown PA. Will provide origin of this if you like by EMAIL only. No blood connection.
Will

rabatin, from Kal'ava.

My family was Luthern. I am thinking that my Grandfather, George Rabatin, who had a brother John. They settled in Farrel, Pa. in the early 1900's. I am going to Slovakia in April 2006 for genealogy research. I cant find a direct blood relationship to any Jacob Rabatin. But if he was from Kal'ava there may be a relationship that I may find when I go to Slovakia. Anyhow if you family Rabatin is LUTHERN and was from Slovakia around Kalava. please email me at wtravlr1@msn.com. there are all my other posts with family names on this thread. I have written letters to all the Rabatins in and around the Kalava area so see if i get a response. Since our family bible was lost we are not sure where George and John Rabatin came from. Also search Ellis Island. and for maps go to Mapy.Atlas..Sk and you can see towns in Slovakia. andy

Andrew,

I noted in an earlier message that your family tree included Podolsky, so I took a peek at it and would be interested in any additional information that you may have about Andrew J. Podolsky that isn't posted at Ancestry. Also can you tell me where you found is birth and death info? I am conducting a "one-name" study of ALL Podolsky/Podolski/Padolsky/Padulsky etc. families that have come to the US. I already had some information about Audrey and her children that is not included in your on-line tree and I would be happy to pass this along if you would like.

Michael Gilbreath

Looking for family in USA and Slovakia

I'm looking for my family in USA trying to find the family in Slovakia too.
My name is Sergio Rabatin and I live in South America. My grandfather Jura Rabatin came here trying to arrive in USA where he had got family. In Word War I he was in the Army of Austria and after that took a sheep to America (that was that he thaught). Here he made a family whit a polish immigrant and he took contact with our family in USA and Czechoslovakia.

At the moment I've got the following problems to find them:
My grandfa was born in June 1st 1899 in a place of Kosice province (at the present Slovakia) and die in July 31 1959, six years and a half before I was born (January 27 1966)
My father and my oncle died in 2001 and 2002 and they never know where their father was born. They never wanted to speek the language and they never learnt english to write to the same people that their father write in slovak.
When I took conscience my father and their brothers didn't have got any more the addresses and other information. And when the years came they went on loose some photographs, letters, books, etc.

At the moment I've got very feew informations:
My grandfather was Jura Rabatin, translated in spanish his name was Jorge Rabatin (That means George Rabatin)
Born in June 1st 1899 in a place of Kosice province.
His father was Jan Rabatin and his mother Elizabeth Varolic.
He had got older brothers and sisters in USA. Some of them were religious (catholics).
My cousin has got a few photographs but I don't know who are the peoples in them and nobody in here knows that.
If my cousin find anymore I will write at once.

If anyone could help, send a mail to:

gamakjachum@yahoo.ca

Sergio Fabián Rabatin
136 #789 / 47 & 49
1900 La Plata, Buenos Aires
ARGENTINA
Rabatin Family

Hello! I am actually researching this family as well starting with Louis and Margaret Rabatin. My uncle is Steve Rabatin and he's asked me to look up this history. He told me that his grandfather, Louis, died sometime in 1973 or 1974. His grandmother, Margaret, died in 1965. The only other info I have is that they were from Doylestown, OH and are buried at St. Peter and Paul Church in Doylestown, OH. If you have any info, I'd like to share it with him. Thanks! Melanie :)

Langston & Rabatin

I am trying ever so hard to find relatives or people who may have known some of my relatives. My grandfather was John Joseph Langston, he was adopted when he was 12 or so by a different family, so we aren't sure if that is his correct last name or not. We do know that he was born in Jacksonville, FL, but resided in Wadsworth, OH with my grandmother Alice. My other grandfather is Edward Rabatin. To my knowledge & from what I've been told, my great grandparents came over from Hungary around the late 1890's.I've been told that our last name could possibly different than what we have been going by for the past 3 generations. This side of the family has resided in Barbarton, OH. If anyone has any possible information, please contact me. I would greatly appreciate it.

Melaine,

I hope you are still interested in the family tree.

Louis Andrew Rabatin died in 1974 and Margaret Ternansky
died in 1965, yes they are buried in the St P& Paul's Cementery behind the church.
Louis Andrew had a store in Doylestown. My grandfather Edward Jonathan Rabatin owned it. Then he sold it to the
city I guess.

I have pictures of the gravesite of Louis A. and Margaret

Margaret's parents are Rose (nee Klavacez) and Michael
Ternansky. I think they lived in the Cleveland area before
moving into Doylestown toward the end of the 1800's.
We may have some Ternansky connection in Cleveland. Still
searching on that part.

How is Steve Rabatin related to me? I'm trying to find out
who is Louis Andrew's parents are?

please e-mail me back at rxr-roxie@msn.com
thanks Roxanna R.
