WEST LIBERTY, Iowa - Lillian G. Rabe, 83, of West LIBERTY, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a short illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Cedar Valley United Methodist Church. The Revs. Marilyn Winch and Mario Padilla will officiate. Burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in West LIBERTY.
Visitation will be at Barker Funeral Home in West LIBERTY.

Mrs. Rabe was born Jan. 13, 1917, the daughter of Jesse and Rachel Jennison Viner. She married Adrian Rabe on April 21, 1936, in Muscatine. The couple farmed in the Cedar Valley area, moving to West LIBERTY in 1964. She was a member of the Cedar Valley United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Rebekah Lodge, and the Cedar Valley Community Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise Newcomb and her husband, Charles and Cathy Smith and her husband, Joe, all of West Liberty; a son, Edwin Rabe of Hopkins, Minn.; a sister, Ruby Morgan of Muscatine; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adrian on May 8, 1999; a sister, Violet; and a brother, Donald.
