Hi John

It's always nice to meet a RABER! I don't believe we're related though. The majority of my family are from Miami County, Indiana. However, I do have family connections in Anderson using the same surname. If you haven't been to Fort Wayne, I suggest you go. Second best geneaology library in the nation. Good luck with your research. If I can be of help, let me know.

A History of the Christian Raber Family *

A new, 215 page, book entitled, "A History of the Christian Raber Family: Featuring Six Generations", is now available, for $25 which includes postage and handling. This book traces the Raber roots to Switzerland, Alsace, Germany, and immigrant Christian Raber's arrival in Ohio and Iowa. (Christian was an Amish preacher and a brother to Jacob Raber, of Ohio). The descendents of Christian, were Daniel, D.B. and Frank.
This book focuses more on the Raber family "story" than on the genealogy per se.
I am looking for the descendants of Fronie Raber. D/o Jacob and Mary Salwaechter Griess. I believe she may have married Adam Raber. It is rumored that the Salwaechter Family had a family bible starting with Jacob Salwaechter, maybe Mathias Salwaechter even, that has been passed down through the family. The last person we think that had it was Fronie Raber. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Salwaechter@juno.com.
