Steve, are you referring to Henrietta 'Etta' GOEBEL, who in the 1920 Census was age 75, a widow, residing in Chicago's 22nd Ward with her daughter Carrie, age 44, single? This Etta immigrated from Germany in 1846 and became a citizen in 1852/1862(?). Her address was 1868 N. Halsted St., Chicago. The Census ref. is T626, R333, P3; E D 1249, Sheet 33.

Residing with him were: Henry F/H(?), age 30, single; Cora (22), Gertrude M. (17) and Florence (11), all of whom were born in Illinois.
Also, in the 1910 Census in Chicago was Henry GOEBEL (53), born in Wisconsin and his wife Caroline (51) who was born in Illinois. Her father was German born in Brazil. There were no children. They had been married for 19 years and lived at 1138 Diversey Blvd. in the 25th Ward. The Census ref: T624, R268, P99; E D 1080, Sheet 14A.
I have been in personal contact with a Thomas GOEBEL of Morton Grove, IL and we both have female ancestor(s)with the surname NIERSBACH.
What additional information can you give me as to your parents, to fill in the gap between you and your grandfather?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards, Bob Niersbach
