Good news! Mary Radford b 1836 Skegby, (my g grandmother), married James Beardall in 1856 Mansfield.
Her father was John Musson Radford b 1806 Heanor, and he married Ann Charlton b 1807 Skegby, in 1830 at Sutton in Ashfield. The Musson origin is unknown, but usually signifies some illegitimacy.
However, his father is down as John Radford b 1776.
This John Radford was the grandfather of Walter Chew Radford, (1834-1900)a pioneering photographer in Mansfield.
