Rafters In Sligo

Can anyone help me?
I'm looking for a Margaret Rafter born about 1860 in Sligo.

I have information about her from her 2nd marriage cert and census but nothing has turned up to find her birthplace.

Her 1st marriage is to ? Kelly. No record has been found. (maybe a publician)
Her 2nd marriage is to Francis Mc Manus in 1893 Sligo. On that cert, she is living in Ballina, she's a publician and widow. Father is Patrick Rafter a farmer.
On census, she states she is born in Sligo. And she's not that accurate about her age.

Local knowledge suggest these Rafters were from the Enniscrone / Kilglass area, around Carragaree.
Her first child from her 2nd marriage was born in Enniscrone so it does look connected to her. Unfortunately, so far no Margaret Rafter has be spotted there.

(Apologies if this sounds familiar, I also posted in a Mayo board)

Can anyone add to my Rafters?
I have a Margaret Rafter born about 1860, I'm guessing in Mayo. She married ? Kelly possible a publican in Ballina. In truth I don't know where or when but she marries again in 1893 as a widow to Francis Mc Manus. At the time she's resident in Ballina. Her Father is Patrick Rafter a farmer.
I'm aware of her life from her second marriage on. 1893-1934.

Mayme Rafter, born 1855, lived Green Co., WI, dau of Mariah Rafter, & wife of Charles Edwards

I have an original carte de visite photograph of “Mayme Rafter”, which I would like to get back to family members. Written on the back of the photo is “Frank & Frank”, if that would be of any help. Photo was taken in about 1870, by “C. W. Lucas, Photographer, Exchange Square, Brodhead, Wisconsin”, and Mayme looks to be about 18 years old in the photo. Brodhead is in Green Co.

I found Mary Rafter Edwards in the 1900 census for Albany (Green Co.) WI, with DOB Oct 1855. Mary’s husband was Charles Edwards, age 40, and living with them was her mother, Mariah Rafter (born Ireland in Nov 1824), a widow.

Email me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Mayme Rafter.

I am looking for relatives of Daniel Rafter. He was from Hazelton, Pennsylvania. He was married to Anna Kellner, also of Hazelton. They had three children, John, Mary and Daniel. I believe they also lived in Mt. Carmel. I think he died around 1909. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hello,

My sister and I are new to the ancestry process - and we are trying to find information about our maternal grandfather's side of the family.

Our grandfather, John Rafter was born in 1902 and died in 1974 - we believe. He married Pauline Adams (Adopted daughter of Percy Fenton Adams (Adelsbach) and Annetta Snyder). They had three children, Shirlee, Doris, and Donald.

John and Pauline divorced sometime in the mid to late 1940's. We have no idea if he remarried or had more children - or where he was living when he died...

We believe his parents were John Rafter (Born in New York in 1880 and died in 1912) and Anna Greb (1880-1955).

We believe John Rafter Sr's parents were Timothy Rafter (unknown dates) and Ellen Farrell (1845-1919) - both from Ireland.

And we believe Anna Greb's parents were John Greb (1850-1880) and Maria Haas (1850-1934)

John Jr and Pauline were living in California when their children were born in the 1920's - 30's.

Any information would be greatly appreciated...

Thank you
Lisa

Seeking information and links to Rafter family of Timacat, Kilkerrin Parish, County Galway in 1840s. Three daughters wound up in an English orphanage possibly in or near Manchester, so the family may have left Galway during or after the Great Famine. Daughter Margaret emigrated to New York ca. 1855.

Searching for Rafter family from Belleville Ontario area

Hi!
My wife is looking for a link to her natural parents. She was adopted soon after birth(08/15/1958) and re-named Belinda Blaind. She was born in Belleville, Ontario Canada. Privacy is respected if parents wish to remain annonymous, however they might be able to help with medical issues with my wife and my son.

Belinda is happy, generally healthy and has a wonderful family that we would love to share! My children (ages 13-Alex and 12-Martina) have no grandparents so loving grandparents would be a welcome addition. They are also curious about their heritage (as is Belinda).

Please respond if you have any information.

Thank You!!!
