SPRINGFIELD - Luella I. Davis Ragains Collings, 90, of Springfield, formerly of Dixon Springs, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Sangamon Care Center.
She was born Sept. 27, 1914, in Dixon Springs, the daughter of David Franklin and Lucy Elizabeth Cooper Davis. She married Owen E. Ragains in 1933 in Golconda; he died in 1973. A stepson, Willard Ragains, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Collings was a cook and housemother at Moose Lodge Orphanage in Mooseheart from 1961 to 1969 and retired as a custodian with the Pawnee School District in 1975. She was a member of Dixon Springs Baptist Church, where she served as the pianist.
Survivors: daughter, Mary Margaret Shoemaker of Russellville, Ark.; son, Lyndol L. (wife, Shirley) Ragains of Springfield; two stepdaughters, Miriam Fouts of Peoria and Ruth (husband, Glen) Madsen of Bourbonnais; stepson, the Rev. Lowell L. (wife, Mary Frances) Ragains of Peoria; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Kerley Cemetery, Flatwoods, the Rev. David Faulkner officiating.
Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna is in charge of arrangements.
