where would I fit in to the family line my mother is Bonnie Raiburn her dad is Archie Raiburn and also trying to find out the father of Newton Monroe my great great grandpa and father back if possible. Also where they were from well atleast Newton.

This message is old, but do you know if Rebecca Giddens is the Rebecca A Giddens the daughter of Hiram Calvery Giddens? Hiram is the younger brother of Rachel Giddens who wed Henry Shockey in Kentucky and then migrated to Illinois, Ark and then to Texas about 1832 or so. A Beckie Giddens wed Rachel and Henry's son William Henry Shockey.Becky and Wm Henry Shockey had a son Wm Henry and on his death certificate the parents are listed as Henry Shockey and Beckie Gideons.
We have been told by family that the younger Wm Henry was raised by his Aunt Lou Raibourn and we do not know why. His father's last record is the Confederate census taken in 1860 of eligible men. But we have also heard that Wm Henry Sr wed a West later and lived in Oklahoma. Can't find anything on that. Wm Henry Sr's brother George W Shockey did marry a Louiza West and we found the marriage license for that.

My "great" grandfather was Newton Monroe Raiburn, I am the grandaughter of Mary G. Raiburn. My father is Homer Hamilton (deceased). I am related to you all. I am probably a 1st or 2nd cousin.

Your Grandfather Isom Raiburn,was my Uncle.He is the brother to ny dad Ethridge Lee Raiburn.The spelling of the name Was Raiburn,That is how Grandpa Newton spelled it on his Marriage License.I have a copy of his marriage record.He married Martha Ann Pace Oct.20,1882 in Franklin Co,Ar.As far as I know no one had the name changed,it has always been mispelled,But the most common way in the old day's was "RABURN" that is how our ancestors spelled it.I have a lot of Research on our family so contact me .Your cousin,Larry Raiburn,Greenville,Texas.
