Ralstons of Guernsey Co, OH
Hello. There were many Ralstons that came through Guernsey Co in Ohio. But my own family stayed and lived there for a few generations. But there is a common problem that I am wanting to put to rest once and for all. I am looking for any brothers/sisters and especially the parents of John Ralston b. abt 1806-1810 in PA, who is married to a Sarah or Ellen M (Ellenor).
His parents came from Ireland, and we believe into the port at Philadelphia. Since I have been aggressively finding my family, it is looking as if they followed Rt-22 out of PA and eventually coming down to Antrim, Oh. I believe that the Wm Ralston (1818-1893, b in PA) buried close to John is in fact his brother.
I am very, very familiar with the Ralstons of Guernsey Co, I am looking now strongly at Harrison Co, since I proved that John's children were born there.
One other clue/suspision I have is this. My great grandpa's name is William Work Ralston. Its understood that middle names are sometimes maiden names or namesakes passed down. I have a theory that John's wife's maiden name was Work. That's the only logical explanation for him having an unsual middle name, and its been the only ever in the family.
John must of had brothers who had children and so on that are still living today. I want to find them.
Does anyone know any Ralstons that ever came through or lived in Guernsey, or Harrison counties in Ohio
