In the April 1, 1780 edition of the Virginia Gazette (http://research.history.org/DigitalLibrary/VirginiaGazette/V...) an entry under the heading "Williamsburg, April 1" reads:

"... Mrs Randolph, relict of ______ Randolph, Esq; of Virginia, lately died in England"

Does anyone have any knowledge or guesses as to who this might be?

No proof, but my guess would be she was Mary (Scott) Randolph born ABT 1735 Gloucestershire, England and died NOV 1779 London, England. She was the husband of Brett Randolph, Sr. who was born 4 SEP 1732 Curles, Henrico Co., VA and died 4 SEP 1759 Dursley, Gloucestershire, England. Brett was the son of Richard Randolph, Sr. (1689-1748) of Turkey Island, VA and Jane Bolling
